loanshark
I just got my order from MNH (btw super fast shipping and great fokes) I got a Razan Hose which I love. a small super chief that I love and a kilo of Exotica coals. This is my question I have never used nat. coals before these things stink. Is it right for them to smell? I read a lot of the issues people have had with these but my box looks good no white spots not signs of water damage. Do all nat. coals smell when lighting and burning? boulderkid303
most coals have a smell.....exotica's if they are good should only have a slight smell, kinda like nours.
Canon
when you light them theres alot of smell, like burning. but once they are lit (all the way, with a little ash) they are good to go.

AmunRa
I just ordered 5 boxes of these, so I hope they are not too bad. It looks like the review of these disappeared.

gaia.plateau
Shit Canon, I wish I'd known you were buying bad Exoticas before I poured hot sauce all over mine I still have over a box left from H-S that I won't be touching again until I run out of quicklites and after I get my Coconaras, if you want to buy those; they stink, crack easily, but most importantly are inconsistent in temperature, still in the top 3 boxes I've ever received though (out of 10). BDA88
They're good, just gotta get use to them and try out different cuts for each bowl. Smells when lighting but then they're good and last a ling time

Snoopy1966
Matt is correct. You will notice throughout the box of them, you will get a few stinky ones. I still light all my coals outside though. Some are very easy to break, some are very dense. As Canon has also said you really need to ash them a lot in the beginning and then they work much better. I do notice a huge difference between coconara and exotica. The coconaras are much better imo.
