AKammenzind
It should work fine, but personally I'd get a hotplate instead... just easier to plug it in, and you won't have to buy refills. If you're going to use it on the road, or somewhere without plugs then it looks like a pretty nice deal.
jordanneff
Eh, you'd be paying more than you need. You can get small single burners like that at wal-mart for $10.

Hot shit!
austinthecity
I bought one and love it. Some walgreen's actually have a mail in rebate making it like 5 or 6, but I'm way too lazy for that.
SupremeOstrich
Hey wow, that's awesome! I'll pick one up on the way home from work and give it a go!
Scoop
if you want a butane burner, you get one cheap at any sports / outdoor store.
gr!m
heh, those are the same ones used when I do buffet line cooking for fine dining dinners at work. Just buy an electric coil that plugs in..if you REALLY must have portable. This would work but any wind or anything would make it useless.
SupremeOstrich
Well i'm using a butane flex-lighter right now, but it still involves a lot of blowing on the coal, spreads ash all over the table, so I feel like a friggin maid while everyone is enjoying the smoke. Cleaning up ash etc. So I'd like to get this plug-in heater to avoid all the blowing ash everywhere. I smoke strictly inside, so no worries about wind. austinthecity
here's a tip, ostrich:after you take the coals off of the stove, blow the coal dust out right then. otherwise it seems to stick...
