sagrr
Can anyone think of a reason why I might be getting a metallic aftertaste from my MYA? Im using Japanese Easy-Lites, Watermelon Starbuzz Tobacco.I notice that when I'm washing out my hookah, the stem smells similar to that taste. Is there anything I could do about it? VR-4Play
I would make sure that there isn't any corrosion in the stem. Clean it out real nice, and be sure it is dry as you can get it. Water will cause metals to corrode, which can give a metallic taste. I also believe that hoses can do that also, but I'll wait until someone can confirm that. sagrr
ok, so im pretty sure that its the stem thats corroding... I'm not sure what to do, I washed out the stem really good and dried it, but it still smells. What else can I do?
Bulldog_916
I wouldnt smoke out of it. A metallic taste means tiny metal particulate is getting in your mouth. If you're breathing through it, that means it's getting in your lungs. Get a new stem in my opinion.

leadpipecinch21
how long have you had the hookah? if not long, take the matter up with who you bought the hookah from and try and get a replacement either cheaper, or at no cost.
The Devils Playground
stop cleaning it so well. lol No I was not kidding. Let the tobacco build a small lining on the inside of the stem. after I use a cleaner in my hookahs here in the shop. I have the same problem. A couple bowls later I am good again. do this wash the hookah as usual get the hookah going with the hose. Now remove the hose and hit the hookah straight from the hose port a few times. I know Hopckey but try it. If its gone its the hose. If its still there its in the stem.Message me and let me know if that works and you find that to be helpful on getting the issue worked out.laters, Neal
mathuv
might seem a bit irrelevant but check the stem, look through it. it hasnt been the first time a strand of glue was found in a mya stem..
