Caduceus
I've read and heard that lemon juice is fantastic to clean a Hookah with, and quite frankly after investing well over $100 i'd like to keep my hookah as fresh as I can for as long as I can.But with lemon juice being so naturally acidic, if you don't dillute it any, will it begin to eat away at any parts on your hookah? Dull luster, crack hoses, anything like that? And for any of y'all that do use lemon juice i'd appreciate some tips on what you do to give your Hookah a good scrubbin. Thanks much. chinamon
i use it full strength.
racemyghost
Full strength all the way.My hookah is all brass (AF baby!!) so it doesnt crack anything. You dont use the lemon juice to clean the exterior, just the vase and the inside of the stem. I also use it on my hose but its a nammor so no metal to have to worry about the acid eating the metal. thecoalition
yea i only cut it because i soak my mya pieces in it. the km is a different story. thus far hot tap water has cleaned it no problem and the shit is gleaming and sparkling.
Whoswho
Lemon juice with baking soda. I've been using it for a while now.
guyt
You should use just baking soda, no juice. Baking soda alone is more effective than with juice because they just neutralize each other.
Patzke
good point guyt.I usualy fill up my sink with water and put a few shots of lemond juice in. It really doesn't need much..Let it soak for a while while a grab a bite to eat and shes good to go. If the stank is still there, then i fight back with just lemon juice. Then one day i decided to use lemon juice after using baking soda and it took out more gunk. I was suprised. So now i have 3 steps:1.Scrub and rinse with hot water2. Scrub with baking soda and rinse with hot water3. Scrub with lemon juice and rinse with hot water. Edited March 3, 2008 by racemyghost

AzZ
I usually just run the brush down the stem, then use lemon juice and finally rinse with water.
AKammenzind
Normally I just use water but today there was some smell in the base (last time I cleaned it out well was prob. a dozen smokes ago). I took a little lemon juice from the fridge, squirted a tiny bit in the base, and in the stem... swished it around, let it sit for 10-20 mins then rinsed it out. Clean as a whistle and my nakhla sweet melon smoked beautifully
