McCouley
Hi guys,Im new to this forum and would like to discuss a few thing about shisha flavours.Im currently smoking alfakher tobacco shisha grape + mint and im using coconut charcoal. The problem is that i cant really taste the flavour of the shisha . It comes out thick smoke and cant really taste the flavour at the tongue. Any ideas how to enhance the flavour taste.I heard u have to marinate the flavours with honey .Is that true? Thanks
kounter
im pretty new to smoking shisha but i've come to notice that the brand of shisha is really the biggest factor on flavor. the cheaper kinds dont have as much flavor.

Packing your bowl right and the rest of the setup.Al Fakhir is also a well respect tobacco. How are you doing your heat?JD
kounter
yeah that is true. i have had decent flavor out of all kinds that i've smoked. but seriously, the first time i smoked a bowl of starbuzz black berry i was blown away..
addicted2shisha
I had some problems with Al-fakher on a older hookah withr a crap hose... If you have a decent clean hookah and a hose which doesnt have much lingering around in it then you should get taste coming through. Smoke it straight onto the tip of your tongue and if you still don't get taste then you have a problem! The taste of AF grape should definately come through though. AF mint is a strong mixer try grape alone. And sometimes if you keep smoking a hookah with a certain flavour (specially mint) without cleanin it much then it stains the hookah with the taste of that flavour. Try changing different things to see where your problem lies.Get a mod to move this to the general hookah forum you will get more advice.
lanceadamo
also you can try what me and my friends call juicing the bowl. to juice the bowl just put it upside down on a table or something after putting the foil on for a few minutes. this will make the juices of the tabacco drain to the top of your bowl. Ghetto Byrd
What bowl are you using a phunnel one?
olooko
I found you get the most flavor from the fake funnel. heats up nice and evenly and quickly. The down side is the session doesn't last long, but you get lots of flavor. This is how i test all the new flavors.http://www.hookahforum.com/index.php?showt...;hl=fake+funnel

VDDZ
yeah, ice makes it easier to smoke, but it takes down the flavor a noch. I rarely use ice anymore, I just let the hookah stay where it is and only change the lukewarm water like once a week or when switching flavors; or if an empty drag tastes. Johnny_D
Dunno about not changing the water..... Nasty. But lukewarm [Or room temperature] water does appear to release more flavour than ice cold water...I've also moved this to the gen discussion area.JD

That is really nasty if you're waiting a whole week without changing out the hookah water.
AmunRa
I agree with JD, just like I almost always do. Some of the cheaper stuff has amazing flavor, and so does some the premium stuff. You have to experiment with the brands, and the flavors that are offered because each will be different.
