Alle
Last weekend, the wonderful world of hookah entered my life at a friends apartment. Today, I bought my own. Albeit it is a fairly small two hose hookah, it is still my hookah. I watched a few youtube videos on how to set one up, and went outside to give it a go. When I lit the coal, I let it spread for a bit, and then I tried to hit it. I couldn't get any smoke out of it. Any help?
yeshua_cxc
What kind of coals are you using?Be sure to let it fully light to the point where there is no black on it at all (I'm assuming you're using quick lights). Also you may need more than one coal to get enough heat. jamesh2
when you pack the bowl, make sure your allowing it to stay rathher "fluffy". the shisha shouldnt be patted down like a can of chew. break it up in the can/bag and sprinkle it into the bowl. this is your best bet
Alle
I am using "Mera Instalight coals". I don't think I got it red enough. Also, I only filled the bowl up like, half way. Does it only work if I go with a full bowl?
jamesh2
well, i get the coal about half red, it gets hotter when you start smoking. sometimes you have puff for like 10min to get some smoke
Alle
I guess I was just too impatient. Its awfully cold outside, so when I couldn't get any smoke, I just said screw it, I'll try in the morning later.Anyone ever tried "Hookah-Hookah Tobacco"? I got tropical punch, cherry, Jamaican rum, and vanilla.
jamesh2
hh has an odd cut, but good flavor imo. there is a lot of bias on the board against it though lol. yeah, sometimes you have to chill and let the smoke build up =) youll get it soon
Alle
My means of getting shisha are a bit limited. There are only two head shops in town. One of them has nothing hooka, and the other one only carries HH.I have had Kiwi Strawberry HH before, and THAT was pretty good.

Alle
Thanks for the help guys. I just had a WONDERFUL vanilla bowl with my friend and his girlfriend. Does everyone get a head rush? I don't really feel it much.
Voski
If the tobacco you are smoking is washed you probably won't get much of a rush unless you smoke A LOT. Unwashed brands on the other hand will give you a head rush.
Alle
Would HH qualify as washed or unwashed?
DRainh2o
I guess it depends on how often you smoke and what kinda shisha when it comes to getting a buzz. Generally buzzes are mild with most shisha.

Try this... light the coals let them do their magic for like a min till they stop sparkin, then blow on them kinda like your starting a camp fire or somthing, not to hard, just a constant blow... that sounded wrong, anyways... once they are ashed over completly with no black left, drop teh coal on the ash tray to get rid of the ash, and put the coal (which side you think is the hottest) face down on the foil... let it sit and cook for about 30 sec. then see if you can get the smoke to come out... might take about.. 10 hits but try itQUOTE (Alle @ Mar 7 2008, 10:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I guess I was just too impatient.
