Somewhat off-topic: Aren't hookahs older than cigarettes?

they probably are... but not on this side of the planet.
it is still very new in this hemisphere. unfortunately, the hookah was introduced to our mainstream market as drug paraphernalia rather than a traditional middle eastern tobacco pipe. sad.gif

...and people who concern themselves with the "buzz" can't be helping. It could be construed as illeagal...

its the same thing if i smoked a cigarette in 30 seconds but we call it a "head rush" rather than a buzz.
some people smoke hookah to get intoxicated from the nicotine. lol.

yeah over here in malta we call it a headrush as well.. haha yeah i love smoking hookah so i can get a rush tongue.gif

I'm Also from MN and we cant smoke in bars or restaurants, and let me tell you the day before it took effect the bars were PACKED the day after, completely empty
i only smoke hookah but i used to hang out at perkins in the smokin' section with all a my smokin' friends. there were about 15 now ..its dwindled to 3 and we've only had the ban since oct 07....yeah

the only places other than your home that you can smoke are
on stage
at a tobacco shop

and there's one other one i can't think of
my question is

is a hookah lounge considered a tobacco shop, cuz if its not i'm gonna have to install cameras if i ever open one =P

do you ask management or just pull it out? do you bring a carrying case or just the hookah?

TIA

But that was a few months ago, now its getting harder for some reason, like the restaurants are banning together. Next, I'm going to take a hookah to a pool hall.

Anyway, replying to a bunch of posts I missed since my laptop wants to die.

Quaker Steak and Lube is this amazing place that has wings and other manly foods.
Somebody said something about smoking being allowed on stage. Funny story relating to that. I went to see Ron White in Youngstown, and right after a joke about the smoking ban he lit up a cigar. It was great.
To Canon, thanks for proving it can be done. I'll try heading over to PA more often to see about smoking.
And to Jamesh, yeah, we are pretty close. In the summer, I'm up at Clay's Park with my girlfriend's parents a lot, so I'm even closer in those months.

Sitting at Denny's with a Grand Slam and a hookah would rock! Talk about heaven!

But, we have a ban where I live here in Indiana. No more smoking in public buildings. You can haul your ass outside is how they put it.

What truly proves our government is cracked out is that they are trying to ban smoking everywhere. The tobacco industry makes how much a year? Cigarettes alone cover a large chunk of that. That is alot of tax dollars down the drain. If they were smart, they would put a tax on cigarettes. Only a few people would quit then. You'd still have all your "addicts" buying and buying, producing money to get our country out of our $3 trillion debt!

same is true here in houston, they can't even smoke in bars. the business has to make over a certain percentage of its money from smoking.

on a side note, that's what i loved about lebanon, almost all of the cafe's and restaurants over there obviously allow you to smoke, since the arguileh is on the menu

By tax I meant raise that mofo! And shit, I knew it was $9 trillion. That site is amazing. Our debt grows way to quick.

About that video. What the hell is the scientist lady talking about? Cigarettes are way worse. If rat poison, insecticide, embalming fluid, lead, cyanide, ammonia, and Polonium among others can't get that through her head, then lets try a Desert Eagle. All those terrible medical emergencies and deaths that they mention and show pictures of are mainly from cigarrette users. Last thing about this, did that lady say that Hookah is legal for a minor because the law doesn't state what form of tobacco is illegal?

Just for the curious, I am not against cigarette smokers. My mom, friends, and other family members smoke. I am all for smoking. If cigarettes get outlawed, whats next? Cigars? Pipe Tobacco? Hookah?

Regarding hookah misconceptions, I smoked over at my friends house the other day in his backyard. His neighbor apparently saw us and told my friend's mom that we were "doing something" but he "wont make assumptions". He then told her to "keep an eye on them". Luckily she trusts my friend, but thats lame.
