Wtf Is Up With...

Ok, so today i go down to my local middle east mart to check out their shisha selection and get some 3K's. I ask how much the 50g Nahklah boxes re and.......... she says 13.99. Wow so theres no way im not buying online ever again. Even if shipping is 30 bucks and i get hit with duty, is under $2 for the exact same box online. Not to mention theres waaaaaaay better selection.

On another note i smoked my QT for the first time yesterday and it was EPIC.

i feel bad for the poor canadian hookah connaiseurs. luckily there are plenty of good online vendors.

even over here the tobacco prices are lower. what does a pack of marlboro set you back in canada?

I'm not even sure if you can buy American cigarettes here anymore... I haven't put a cigarette in my mouth since I was 16, but I used to smoke Winston's, and I know you can't get them here anymore. Players, Export A and Du Mauriers are the most popular brands where I'm from, and they'll run you about $10 a pack if you're white. If you're aboriginal and have a treaty card, you can get cartons for like $15 each.

we could never get marlboro here in canada.
as of 2006, the benson&hedges company came out with a brand of cigarette called Rooftop. it has the same logo design as marlboro but does not have the name on the box. it tastes similar to marlboro in america though.

a pack of 20's costs me $7.25 and a pack of 25's costs $9.00. this is at the convenience store right behind my house and its known to many people (even people that live in another suburb) as the cheapest place to buy smokes in the toronto area. i know the average price of a pack of 25's at a gas station usually runs about $10.25-10.50.

Jesus, in minnesota its like...4 a pack for name brand cigs, marlboro, lucky strike and such

nahkla is like...3 around here, romman is 5 and yeah there isnt a very good selection.

what's realllly ironic to me is that the islamic center is right next to our porn store, and the porn store is the only one in winona that sells hookah supplies (right next to the "water bubblers" as they're called. but the islamic center is the main force trying to get the porn store kicked out of town so they can't even go there. and i've talked to a few of them and yes, they do smoke.
its hilarious to me.

Wait i read this rite?? 30 bucks for 50g dam for that i can get 1.5 kilos of nakala

Haha yeah, I go to a shop a few blocks away and get 250 grams of nakhla for $5.50.... $1.10 for 50 grams = what, around 15 times cheaper than Canada?

Do these taxes apply to domestic tobacco products? Or just ones imported into Canada?

Applies to all tobacco products... but as far as shisha goes, my understanding from talking to a shop worker is that they don't actually get taxed much at all for it. People just hike up the prices for profit because of the lack of competition.

I talked with a guy that works at the local lounge, wanted to buy some mo'assel they have (the stuff is orgasmic) and he said they can't do that yet. And when they will be able to, it will be expensive b/c they have to pay $40/250g taxes. But then again I am in QC, so it really depends on the province.
