New Hose Time?

I was cleaning my washable hose and a bunch of black shit came out of it. I figure that's probably a bad sign. Time for a new one?

I know I know, Nammor or Razan time. Or is shit coming out of the hose normal after a few weeks of good sessions?

if it is a washable hose then you shouldnt need to buy another because it was ruined by washing it. If the stuff commin out is like small black flakes then it sounds like ash or tobacco bits.

i have the cobra head hoses,

and after every session, i blow the hoses clean, but even when i do, i gotta blow them out befor hand as well, and some brown like dust shit comes out... am i killing myself by still using these hoses?

Many have worked in metal shops their entire lives with little consequence. Obviously, some had subsequent lung trouble, but imagine the duration of their exposure. Occasionally using a rusty hose isn’t going to be detrimental to your health. Your body can dissolve and absorb small quantities of metal.

thats if its in fine dust.
sometimes its clumps or chunks that come out of the hose. id imagine some of them could even be big enough to cause minor cuts in the lungs.

bushbr, definitely get a new hose...preferrably something that doesnt have metal coils inside like the nammer/razan.

Well, like Mark Twain once said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Fuck it."

I destroyed the hose, took the heads off and cleaned them up, got all the glue and shit off of em and bought 10 feet of 1/2 inch inner diameter plastic hose, cut it to 6 feet and put the head of the hose on the tip of it. Now I got a clear plastic hookah hose with the same head. $4 hose and I'm finishing the Tangiers bowl I started. I love redneckin' it.
