Sara
I am a university student planning on opening a Shisha bar as part of a business project. However I am having loads of problems finding out if there are any age restrictions on Shisha. Am I correct in assuming that it just fits in with the regular tabacco laws? Thanks
Soup
You are correct in assuming. If you look at most, if not all, hookah site, they say that you must be atleast 18 years of age to purchase the pipe and tobacco...Hell, I've even seen age restrictions on coals. hooka_honey
Hi Sara. While this assumption is correct, if you are opening this bar be sure that you apply for your tobacco license. Many times people attempt to retail tobacco. While the consequences may not appear immediately, there are many cases when agents will show up months, even a year later, and start seizing all of your products. When you open the store, make sure to take the proper steps, and get the proper licenses/certifications!!
Lakemonster
Luckily the licences are reasonable. One tobacconist told me it ran him $75 a year....but that was several years ago. you should be able to research your requirements here (assuming you are US citizen) http://www.atf.treas.gov/
