Troubles with naturals...

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I occasionally get a headache - regardless of what I smoke and the coals I use. I think I need to take more breaks between puffs and get some real air in there!I will say that, smoke-for-smoke ... natural coals have given me the least amount of headaches. It all comes down to carbon monoxide output and there seems to be no way around it.Just curious ... anyone else gotten the worst taste imaginable using the electric heaters? It's a chemical taste and it's totally unbearable. I even let the heater run for hours before using it. Ugh.-c

Wow, could this be a vendor that actually contributes thoughts to our little ol' forum?
My guess about the electric heater thing would be that it's the metal coil giving off the bad taste (that is if the tobacco isn't burning). I haven't heard one positive about them myself.
Oh, and concerning you lump olive coals: Would you be willing to send a few samples out (maybe in a little baggy) to a few so we can see how they work for us? I thought my Bilal brand would be okay, I ordered a bag, and now they're just sitting in some dark corner.

Oh, one more thing. Are there any advantages to olive over other types of wood, say like lemon or orange?

We wouldn't have a problem shipping out a couple samples.Let me talk to our operations guy and inform him that he should get a few together. As for the wood preference, there are definite differences between the different trees. Lemon wood has a distinct flavor that it adds to the mix. I've never tried the orange wood but I am guessing that it will probably do the same thing. Olive wood has a slight flavor, as well ... albeit, very minute.Oh, and the electric heater ... it was definitely the metal because it had an acid-like taste. It was the harshest taste that I have ever encountered.-Chris

If you were using aluminum foil wit hthe electric heater, it was probably the result of dissimilar metals put together, heated so hot. I wonder what a metal screen would do? No, I won't get one of the things to find out.
As for the coal sample proposal, well that sure would be a nice thing. Are you guys a "brick and mortar" store also? If so, where exactly are you located?

As mentioned before, we are running a cafe in addition to the Hookah Cartel company. In working with our various wholesalers and distributors, we recognized the need for a hookah company with a customer-centric view. So far, no one's been able to do it ... we intend to change that! =)We have signed the lease on the new home for our online retail and wholesale business and should be there sometime within a couple of weeks or so. We'll keep you posted on this. The cafe, Challal Cafe, is located at 201 Hobbs Road - STE A2 (in League City, TX 77573).As for the heater, until we find something that won't create that horrible taste, we couldn't see ourselves selling that to the public. It's truly that bad. It's not a matter of the foil, as we have tried it without the foil and it produces the same result.-Chris

Okay, the reason for that question was that since it may become difficult to order massell online in the future, if you had a brick-n-mortar I would actually drive out there. I take it that you aren't too far from Houston?
