sammyosuburbia
Hey, I had a question for you guys. Recently when I start a smoking session with my cobra style hose and I'm trying to get the smoke started and what not, I get this black soot like material coming out of my house. Do you guys have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it? I've already tried running water through it and letting it dry properly and also blowing into the house before smoking. Thanks

iamscott06
Cobra hose is not a washable house.. That black soot could be rust.. I'd got to home depot and buy some clear tubing and make a new hose. http://www.hookahforum.com/index.php?showtopic=13233http://www.hookahforum.com/index.php?showtopic=13736I did this with my cobra hose, still have it laying around. Hm.....is doing this simple or is it pretty complicated, cuz I'm not the best at putting stuff together after a certain point. Also, about how much does it cost? iamscott06
Its cheap and pretty easy. Only takes a minute or two. If you buy some tubing you might want to soak/run some warm water on it so it can bend easier.
mushrat
I suggest a softer surgical hosing..thats what we ar experimenting with now.. In the mean time, If the soot is black, you may be able to get by with smacking your hose on the floor a few times (Jesse is that you?) and blowing it out. it MAY just be smoke residue. If it's reddish dust, then its likely rust and your hose is toast.
