American Shisha Vs Real Shisha

Recommended Posts

I suppose I should start off with announcing the fact that this is my first thread on this wonderful forum. I've looked around and didn't see this topic and it interests me to see everyones opinion. While kicking around the forums I noticed that everyone seems to smoke american brand shisha's. And everyone smokes out of a Mya Gyro but that's irrelevant. I haven't smoked American shisha in the two years that I've been smoking. To be honest this was mainly due to a biased opinion that Americans wouldn't know too much about producing quality shisha. So let me know, what do we think is superior and why? American Shisha (ie: Starbuzz, Fantasia, etc.) or Traditional Shisha (ie: Al-Waha produced in Jordan, Al-Amir produced in Saudi Arabia, etc.)

we do like traditional ones!

JD smokes Nakhla like crazy.

Al-Fakher is not American.

starbuzz is ok, but really expensive.

My fave is Tangiers. and with that one, if you get it to smoke you will understand why.

And there has actually been alot of people buying Kalil Mamoons recently and the ratio of Egyptian hookahs to modern hookahs is growing.

True Eternal biggrin.gif

I personally think it's like comparing Cheddar to St Agar. True they are both cheeses but they are a world apart.

'American' tobacco's are more modern and probably appeal to the younger folks.

A lot of us who got started on things like Nahkla tend to find ourselves gravitating back towards it. Don't get me wrong I love the new flavours and stuff from places like Fusion, Starbuzz or Fumari [Modern tobacco's i've had direct and personal experience with]. But I do think it's like my analogy above.

Generally though I tend to allways keep Nahkla in the cupboard and probably smoke 50% nahkla and 50% others during the course of a week.

Good first topic by the way biggrin.gif

Like Johnny said the American Tobacco appeals to younger kids, As for me I smoke both American tobacco and others. To me it doesnt make a difference where its from. I like it all....

I personally like Starbuzz, yes I know its expensive but with quality comes a price. I've tried other brands but this is the one I like the best.

Price doesn’t bother me cuz I’m a balla I can throw money around. cool.gif

Tangiers > *

I really don't think it's fair to claim the omnipotence of non US made tobacco without comparing to Tangiers. But I do agree with you to an extent, I think Starbuzz is some of the lamest crap out there. (unless you only like flavor for like 20 minutes, that is.)

These days, there are only two brands I smoke.

Tangiers and Fusion.

One TRUE American and a foreign brand (I dont remember exactly but I believe it may be Jordan).

Starbuzz is produced in a factory in Jordan, its just packaged and stuff in American despite it saying it is American. Tangiers, Smiley, and now Zona are the only true American shishas that I know of right now.

I smoke Al Fakher and SB, what ever I can get my hands on around here. I have a Mya, but that was given to me by my friend. I like smoking out of my egyption the most.

I usually smoke AW, AF, Layalina, and Fusion. I liked the Pink Lemonade flavor from Fantasia, but that's all I've tried so far. Tangiers just hasn't been for me after going through Orange Soda, K-Peach, and Schnozzberry. I'm giving it one more try with Horchata, but my hopes aren't high.

I usually smoke out of my Syrian or my KM, but I do have a Mya QT around for when I'm feeling lazy. Edited by Ralleac
