mattarios2
I cut the sticks of exoticas into 1/4's so I have 4 pieces from 1 stick. Use 2 pieces or 3? Also if you say two, do you put the coals right in the middle to get it going then just move it out? Because I feel like with two it takes to long to get going but maybe im missing something. Thanks Edited March 15, 2008 by mattarios2
waterboi
i use two with mine. Then rotate them every so often. Sometimes three is good to start with.I put mine toward the edge of the bowl. Not towards the center. Edited March 15, 2008 by waterboi

One on left and one on right to get it going, and then move the two coals out?Do you use a cover?

Do you put them on the outer edges and just wait till it gets going? And do you add 1 more coal towards the end when the 2 coals start to die? Or does 2 last long enough for you? waterboi
i start with two coals on the edges of the bowl and let it get going for about 5 mins. Then it is smoking fine. I then wait for the coals to get low and remove them and then add two newer ones on opposite sides of where the others where. It works for me. Sometimes 1/3s actually work better than 1/4s.
