nickimholte
hey guys i purchased a Mya on tuesday. not sure what model but i'm having some problems with it right now. I'm using the standard mya bowl with starbuzz shisha and a two japanese easy light silver coals. The two coals are together not broken apart and i rotate them around, but i'm not getting good hits at all. Up until today i used this exact same setup with much better results. I took everything apart and cleaned it and stuff but no help. Any suggestions?
Canon
more heat, break up the coals into 2 separate pieces and put a wind cover on
olooko
make sure all the slvr paints burn off first. pack the bowl to the brim with loose SB tobbaco ( yes let it touch the foil) then poke lots of big holes.orpack full just slighly under the foil and poke tons of tiny little holes. more coals,I like using the second method, no burning, but more heat. nickimholte
Just for the hell of it, here is a picture of my Mya. Anyone know what model this is? Edited March 16, 2008 by nickimholte
Nikon1323
check your water level man......make sure its like 1 in to an inch and a half over the bottom of the stem so you can get that big smoke build up but still have it cooled
mathuv
usual drill, check your setup, make sure the hookah is airtight, make sure the coals are burned well, pack the shisha loosely, try poking more holes in the foil
EternalSoil
i don't recognize that base but i have seen the stem a lot.you need to clean better. unless that is a pre-cleaning pic you base is still dirty, i can see the nasty ring on it.
n0s
Sounds like you just need more heat, i'm not a big fan of japanese coals but like olooko said you do need to let the silver burn off first and double check that your setup is airtight with airflow through the bowl. So basically just a +1 to what everyone else said =)

MechAnt
The glass is frosted so it looks clouded.Break the coals up because it distributes the heat more evenly. With the standard MYA bowl, you only need two coals but the startup takes some time. I generally heat up three coals, get it started and then remove one until later when the coals get too small.
