antouwan
my friend's brother in law brought him an egyptian arguileh from Lebanon with him like 3 years ago. anyway we brought it back out a couple of months ago to try and make the magic happen....failed. this past weekend we tried again AND:his plate/tray is rusted so i'm replacing thati got him a new ball bearinghe's getting a new head and head grommetnew MYA hosenew base and grommetso here's the deal. I got the brushes i use to clean my arguiles (base and stem brush) and tried to clean the inside of his pipe (that's what she said) and after running the brush through it around 10 times, and pouring scalding hot water down it i can still see some gunk built up on the side of the pipe when i look through it. So, finally my question: anyone have some suggestions on how to get the little remaining crap out of there?i've tried any and everything i knew and head of so any help would be much appreciated!regards,Antoine
Codename067
Try Alcohol.Edit: Back to the steaming hot water; fill the whole stem with it, and then somehow, clog up both ends of the stem and let the water sit there for a little [while the hot water remains inside the stem], then try cleaning it again. mathuv
try alcohol, if that fails, do what codename067 suggested. otherwise just let it sit in a bath of hot water for a couple of hours.
Stuie
I have done this for a friend before too. Bathtub full of hot water and half of one of the small boxes of baking soda. Let it sit over night. You can also try Bling! from HS. I have a friend that swears buy that stuff but I have never tried it.

ForgetulRobot
I'm surprised no one has mentioned trying 420's hookah cleaning solution. It cleans pyrex/glass/metal/ceramic

RayVer
I really want to try that 420 cleaning solution but haven't gotten around buying it.I've always used lemon/water which works pretty well.... one thing I tried not so long ago was beer. I think Eric suggested it a while back but I always passed on doing that. When I tried the beer and it cleaned it surprisingly well and left no odor at all which the lemon/water was leaving a bit.
