Shelf Life Of Shisha

Hey,
Anyone know about how long shisha will last, I know there are a lot of variables so lets assume it is kept sealed in either the original box or a glass jar. it can also be room temp or a fridge (if thats the better way).

Whatever, i searched around some and didnt see anything, that said this question mostly comes in the interest of being able to stock up by buying my shisha in bulk 2000g at a time (I only usually smoke 5 bowls a week).

Shelf life of shisha can be years if you store it in a cool dark place.

I don't have pics of the grand stash yet but I will soon. The brands consists of Nakhla, Al Waha, Al Fakher, Layalina, Fantasia, Fumari, Starbuzz, Tangiers, Fusion, Pharoahs, Kamal (Samples), Kings, and Hookah Hookah. There are over a dozen stores near by that sell good brands for good prices.

for the past 6 months i've been smoking 3-4 year old shisha...it's a little dry, but it still tastes and smokes just fine.

damn, I guess it makes sense because honey will last virtually forever and mollasis is about the same.

still I think its pritty sweet the stuff can just sit for two years and still be ok for a good smoke.

anyone try keeping them with fruits or something of similar flavor for a few days before smoking? (i.e. you got some double apple and you chop up into slices of apple and let them sit in the same jar for 3 days before getting rid of the actual apple and smoking... make sense?)

It'll probably be fine but you should ask the store owner if you can return it if it ends up being bad... or at least bring it to his/her attention that the store is selling shisha that is almost 2 years old. I bought some AF Apple (regular apple, not double or esk.) from a store and it was made near the end of '06. I smoked the flavor for 30 minutes then chucked the whole 250g in the garbage.

Average time is 2 years, depending on the brand and how juicy, opened or not, storage conditions...etc

I think that this would vary on brand and that a less 'goopy' brand would not keep as long as a goopy one I would think. A brand like Layalina would probably have a longer shelf life then Havana for example. A couple of years is a good barometer though.

Most people say shisha has a shelf life of only 2 years, shisha can last a lot longer than 2 years. It all depends on where you keep it stored.
Until last year, I was still smoking Al Amasi Memories Mix back from 2002! (in early 2003 SSC decided to stop carrying Al amasi shisha, my favorite flavor was memories mix, I would smoke 2 bowls of it everyday, I decided to buy the last case of memories mix (24 x 250g bags) before it was all gone. those 250g packs lasted me until last summer and it tasted just as good as when i first tried it. (the smell started to change but it still tasted the same!!)
when you store shsha, you have to make sure that it is in a cool dark place, never store in a dry place. especially nakhla.

if you smoke a lot of hookah, 2000g is not too much to keep around at all times,
(its only considered hoarding if you have more than 5000g at your house and you dont share)

Dunno about two years. Before I got this nasty bronchitis, I smoked a bowl of Havana Melon that I had opened about 5 months ago and have just had it sealed in an airtight container and it was great, so I would think you have a lot of time.

I've given away at least 2000g of shisha within the past year (and 2 hookahs). I am a firm believer in hookah charity. Edited March 19, 2008 by MrMoodz
