2. if your gettin it for a mac then final cut studio its what I use for my major. Its not cheap or easy but you know.

Its not extremely hard to learn...to do more complex and most of the time unnecessary effects it can be, but your cut, fade, transition, dissolve isn't hard to pick up.

Hell, you will spend more time trying to figure out how to import.....in high school it took me about a week lol.

Serious editing go with a mac, Just playing around *find* a copy of adobe premier pro, not 2 or 3 or w/e number they are up to just premier pro.

I know how that is, I was gonna go to RIT for film but didnt want to strugle to find a job/ im not that creative, just talented when it comes to editing. I figured I could get just as nice as a job in TV and go to grad school for film if I really wanted to. I also find DV is a bit more forgiving then film

Where do you go?

Canon sorry to hijack your tread

Ya not meaning to hijack. I got to ENMU (Eastern New Mexico University) Its not a film school but we have a Digital Cinema Arts degree and the way it's set up we dont have to be creative cause we have modules and theres a writing module and a directing mod, and a camera mod, a post prod mod, a sound and music mod, and so on and so forth.

That sounds pretty cool. We have just different classes mostly on the focus of broadcast but we also focus alot on fundamentals which can be applied anywhere....you in NBS by any-chance?

Sorry again,

National Broadcast Society = NBS jw, I think its time to let canon have his tread back and im hitting the sack. If you ever have some questions about the FCS I have messed around with Motion and DVD pro quite a bit, just send me a PM.

I use premiere, then after effects, then encore to complete a video project. Since I have switched jobs, I haven't much time to do anything in them, but man for the complete package Adobe is the way to go

whats good?

thanks
Mac or PC?
For PC I'd recommend Adobe Premier if you have a good system.
If you have a slightly slower system, or want something that's easier to use, go with Sony Vegas.
(PM me if you need help... locating them)

For Mac:
Final Cut or Pro
Adobe Premier Edited by cr3am
