Green Discharge?

Recommended Posts

Alright so I clean my hookah the same way every time but today i noticed when i was drying the inside the papertowels had a little green-ish tint to it ... I was wondering if anyone knew what it was or how to get rid of it?

I usuall run warm water through ...lemon juice ... and acleaning brush ... then i wipe it down inside and out and let it stand up to dry overnight ... right now i have it sitting in hot water and lemon juice trying to see if that will get rid of th eblue ...

at first i though it may have been from the blueberry SB but i use a phunnel to smoke ...

so any ideas?

Man, I'm so glad the green discharge is coming out of your hookah! When I read the title I was expecting it to come out of your . . . well, lets just move on.

Ok green stuff, that sounds like copper oxide. Brass is an alloy of copper, iron, and bits of other stuff. Generally when copper gets hot it oxidises, also water helps with the oxidisation process. I wouldn't be too worried about copper oxide. The vast majority of modern homes (in the UK) have their drinking water pipes made out of copper. Never did us any harm! . . . but come to think of it, we did loose our empire about the time we started installing. . . nah. A little bit of copper also protects against syphilis, and thats the important thing.

Alternatively, it could be shisha juice.

I'd check to see if your hookah is rusting on the inside as well and clean it out after every session. It could just be build up of rust/mold but i doubt that.

What kind of hookah is it happening from?

Its a mya diva ... no rust though ...

hmm...well i think a lot of egyptian stems are copper/iron/brass. i know for a fact that some are made of surplus gas pipes blink.gif when you buy one of these "real" egyptians (not brand name ones, just your generic arab grocery pipe) its not uncommon to realise its made from surplus metal. im ok with that, as long as the pipe is good and has no obvious effects on me. when i got my egyptian pipe i let it soak in hot water for around 2 hours to get rid of all the dirt/bacteria (it was the display pipe..) and i was surprised at what little dirt came out of the stem lol_hitting.gif
