Yeah, I havent gotten a use out of my hookah yet and I had cleaned the stem a few nights ago and went to go finish the job tonight, by washing out the base since I wont be smoking any time soon, I havent been in any rush. I had noticed some rust inside the port where my hose connectors get screwed on. Im guessing some water dripped down in there. My ball bearings also rusted.

Was this my fault or is this stem been produced poorly?

As I was looking the rest of the stem over I noticed that the bottom of the stem the piece that will be in water all the time has some rust on the inside of the pipe.......Even if it werent taken care of I dont think that there should ever been rust there since its the part that is in water

I guess I will give HS a call monday or tuesday and see what they can do for me. I dunno what do you guys think?

Thanks

It happens to a lot of hookah since that is one part that is not cleaned out as well as all the other parts of the hookah so it is normal. I would brush it out from time to time but putting a gromit over it will do the trick. No harm done really.

Alright, thats an idea that would work....my hose ports also with rust have some green fuzz stuff in em? Something just doesnt add up this is brand new and hasnt been used yet except for just a quick rinse with hot water down the stem. I'm going to give HS a call on monday and see if something can be worked out.

If you got it from Hookah-Shisha, well, they are known to be kinda bad sometimes. If you think you got a bad hookah and it's brand new just tel them and you can return it and get a newer one.

I talked to HS and they said that it was just where the metal was welded and there should be no rust, i scraped some of the brown stuff off and it came clean off.....could just be some dirt I dunno, I'll watch it over time and worst comes to worst I order a stem....it sucks but HS basically said it should be fine.

Well I cleaned my stem tonight with some vinegar to get rid of the green stuff and its not all gone but mostly is....then some lemon juice to just clean it up and i found out after all is said and done that at the bottom of the stem were the smoke is taken to the hoses and that it was a little reddish so i took my knife and scraped at it and it revealed more......so im thinking about it and it all makes sense the entire port is made of copper. This would explain why it is green inside and what not.

Now that im no longer concerned with rust, this copper is going to oxidize is this going to be a problem because in cleaning i cant get all of it.?
