Burning with Foil

Recommended Posts

Hey All, im a frequent reader of this forum and have taken up the tips and techniques of not packing the bowl to full of massell and breaking up the massell before placing it in the bowl, as well as not placing the coal directly on the center of the foil when i first begin my session, yet when my session is over the massell is black and a little sticks to the foil. i still get a really good smoke (or so i think i am) but i am wondering if i am burning the massell and not knowing it? Also in case it matters i have been using various flavors of Al-Waha when this happens. Any input or advice?

Hey, welcome to the forum.  I think you are probably just
fine.  The ma'assell will blacken while being smoked.  As
long as you don't taste burning/harshness/etc you are doing good.
Don't sweat the little bit of tobacco sticking to the foil.  This
happens to me all the time too, as long as it is not big chunks or the
whole cake, you are ok.  If you are happy with your smoke,
congratulations.  There are always loads of people here who just
can't seem to get it quite right, especially at first.  Consider
yourself lucky .

I second that...
If you aren't hacking up a lung or complaining about nasty burning taste, a little tobacco on your foil is nothing to worry about. Everytme you move your coal you are pushing a little on the foil, thats probably pushing it down on a few chunks of Ma'asell sticking up. Fuggedaboutit.
Welcome to the forum and enjoy your smoke!
