jamesh2
ok, so I have a local middle eastern store close to me, I went in a few weeks ago to buy (what I thought to be) a Mya qt, their credit card machine was down so I told them I would come back. When I came back the hookah (blue base silver stem) was sold. he asked me if I wanted him to order some more in, I told him to go for it and I would be back. about a week later I came back and picked out my hookah, but I realized quickly it was no QT; it was a Majanda (see http://www.kingofhookah.com/Results.tpl?rn...9&startat=1 to find out what I mean if you want). I figured screw it, this was only 29 dollars and looked to be nice. I took it home and packed a bowl of pink lemonade, I have to say this little SOB smokes like a damn champ. so I have to ask, anyone else had any experience with these and can tell me if I'm screwed long term, or maybe I found a great deal =)
mushrat
Likely screwed in the long term. The are cheaper adonized aluminum I think and will not last nearly as long as a real qt stem.

Yamin
Honestly, I don't think it matters. I have a bunch of "knock offs" that I bought purposely. They look similar, but aren't and they work a lot better for cheaper. I always thought myas sucked
storm2210
I had a fake MYA Colossus which I had bought for £75 ($150 got really ripped off. Went home and tried it and it tasted like utter crap, the gold paint came off and the stem started falling apart.. probably because it was in the store for so long as no one had bought it... Got my money back though Anyway, I think you're gunna be screwed long term because it probably won't last as long...
paiintballa182
If it makes you happy, who cares if its real or fake
PhishPhood
I got mine at a local middle eastern market, I have the orange one, or what they refer to as like "fire opal". The thing smokes surprisingly well for what it is.. If you can get it for 29 pick it up
peeonatree8
I bought one at a local hookah bar in Raleigh NC, it was $40 bucks with some free tobacco, coals and a carrying case (cage). At the time I didnt notice that it was fake. If I could go back I would have just gotten a real one from an online store. A short honest review:-Base looks great when you get it and has a good fit and rubber oring to seal very well and it does. After just a few uses the bowl started to flake off green paint, turns out the outside of the bowl is painted with a light coat of green paint on the outside. It does not affect the function of it but if you use your hookah even once a week the paint will be almost all gone withing 4-6 months. Function I give it an A, Form I give it a D.-Stem, unscrews in to two peaces and mine has been great. Both the gold and aluminum part of the stem have not flakes or rusted at all, though its not perfect, and everything (the hose and release valve included) fit together perfectly. Everything has orings and seals well. Function A, Form-The hose is so so, has not caused any problems yet (crossed my fingers). the ends both have metal on each end and fit well. Function A, Form A-Ash tray is just like any other A AMine did not come with a bowl!!! :-( so I cant commentOverall it smokes just like any other cheap hookah, seems to hold up functionally but the look of it will fade quick. sensae
I've only had my cheap most-likely-knockoff hookah for two weeks and I've already noticed the purple color of the base is scratched in a place, and it's just thin paint. The metal of the stem also scratches really easily. Otherwise works well, except for the purge absolutely sucking.
AlphaJuno
My first hookah was a knock-off I bought from Los Angeles. It works well, but I gave it to my bestfriend as a started kit.
