erufiku
Same as topic... I made the switch to naturals, but the only ones I have access to at the moment are Rollands. Problem is, they seem to be burning way too hot and a bowl doesn't last too long. Any suggestions as to the amount of coal I should use and/or heat management techniques?By the way, I use 1/2 finger (split in half, ie. 2 x 1/4) or 3/4 (3 x 1/4) on a regular KM clay bowl. Bg_Nick_808
order some exoticas from hookah-shisha.com
erufiku
QUOTE (Bg_Nick_808 @ Mar 23 2008, 09:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>order some exoticas from hookah-shisha.comThought about it, but shipping = cost of coals, ie. a package of exoticas would run me more than $20. Rollands are $5 local. But if I can't get them to smoke properly, I'm going back to QLs, they're like 2$/roll for 3 Kings.

Only gripe I have with them is heat management which I guess owes more to the fact that I'm a noob with naturals.
JillyIsJustKidding
The naturals are awesome..only bummer is that they are round...which means they can just roll off :\Just use less heat and you will be cool.
paiintballa182
Bah, the quicklights are even worse!I would even go as far as saying chineese "easy lights" are better (the fake japs with the silver paint)

Bulldog_916
I love the Rolland naturals, although, the opposite problem is present. Not enough heat. The exoticas were better at providing good heat for a good smoke. Other than that, no complaints.

Or barely baking I guess I'll chop a whole finger into small pieces and play with adding/removing them until I get it just right.
Bulldog_916
2 3rds of a coal usually do well for me on a normal bowl. For the funnel I use 2 1/4s.
racemyghost
Sorry to say, but Roland is garbage. Wether its naturals or quicklites, all garbage.
erufiku
Still, I get the feeling I'm doing something wrong. Anyway I'll smoke the rest of the pack, try to experiment while I'm at it. If it doesn't work out, I'll have to make the trip to a little shop that sells coconaras in montreal. Keeping fingers crossed.
