Getting Some Tangiers Tomorrow And I'm New To It

i've been doing some reading on the subject of this tangiers tobacco and have never used it before. preferably, i would like my first tangy experience to be a pleasurable one and not die. so all you people with tangy experience PLEASE help me out. what are the tips of your tangy trade?

Are you going to be using a Funnel bowl? If so then pack the bowl FULL, use lots of large holes and don't throw a lot of heat on. Here is a tutorial I made a bit back.

i dont pack it as full as others do. i dont understand why either, just pack it thick and to the rim, not over the rim and youll do good. poke 2 sets of holes on the side and one in the middle of the phunnel.

if you dont have a phunnel then pack it thick anyway but leave a hole in the center so you can get a good pull.

and dont use alot of heat, it takes less heat to smoke with tangiers then other tobaccos. i didnt notice until i packed a bowl of fantasia and i had to make the bowl hotter to smoke it. Edited March 24, 2008 by Canon

Tangiers is great when you get it to smoke well. Take my advice, smoke it out of a funnel only. Pack it thick. Use little heat, but use big holes. It's a good tobacco.

Yes, big holes are a must. Make sure its touching the foil. Do NOT forget to acclimate!!!

my advice would be to follow mdl's guide. i set mine up like that but in a regular bowl with a hole in the middle, works well. spread your head evenly round the bowl.. if youdont have a phunnel, dont bother trying to "phake the phunnel" i've tried it in a regular bowl, in a phunnel and in a fake phunnel.. not much difference between fake phunnel and regular bowl

its a great tobacco, good flavor and no headaches.

im good enough with tangiers to where i dont have to acclimate it anymore. just pull it from the bag and smoke it.
