ganesha
So I've been reading all the threads here and I've decided I'm such a newbie...lol I was just introduced this past weekend to hookah smoking. Since then I've purchased my first Hookah, some quicklite charcoal ,a lot of different Shisha (Romman, Starbuzz, & Hookahhookah), and have been smoking daily since. (Sometimes twice a day.) Yesterday I went and bought a box of exotica charcoal (after our local hookah bar owner told I should try natural coals) Luckily my gf works at the hookah bar so she knows how to set up so when she's around it's like a pro is setting up- nice thick smoke, perfect everything (as far as I know..but I am an amatuer so I don't have a lot to compare to.) I'm still hit or miss, but I'm getting consistently better. (Thanks to the tips I read here.) I've been reading the reviews of the different Shishas and I noticed that most people say that they don't get a buzz from Hookahhookah products. I have found that I do. Is this because I am new to it? (I don't smoke cigarettes and like I said I just started Hookah-ing 4 days ago.) I think all the shisha I've smoked has given me a buzz...lol Do you think this will mellow out as I do more smoking? I also want to thank everyone who's posted tips on fighting getting sick... They have all helped me... When I smoke the Romman or Starbuzz shisha I find I will start getting a sick feeling after about an hour. (With the hookahhookah I don't feel sick I just get really buzzed.) Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble, and again a big thank you to all of you who unknowingly have been helping me with my new hobby...Bill
bassman65
Yes, you're getting a buzz from HH because you're not used to the nicotine. Starbuzz and Romman are a bit stronger I believe, which is why you get sick instead of just buzzed (nicotine poisoning).edit: it'll go away, just smoke more, take it easyOh yeah, drink and eat before/while smoking Edited March 26, 2008 by bassman65

Eating and drinking more while smoking helps. Also don't rush it if you feel that you are getting slightly sick take a short break have some fresh air a snack and a glass of good ol' H20 and your set!-H&S

NUBBS
Ive been smoking hookah for about 3 years now and Ive noticed my tolerence level is beyond everyone else I know, but I got into it pretty young. Ive never had problems with setting up as long as you pack the bowl the right way its all good. Well, you could be getting buzzed if you're smoking alone or in other words not taking fresh breaths in between hits or really big hits. So your intake of oxygen has changed. I wish you good luck and good smoke.
