I have seen and used them before they are okay but nothing compared to golden coals or 3 kings.

Have you also tried SOEX ql because i am trying to find which are better the SOEX or SWIFTS as these are the only ones (decent ones i think) that I can get my hands on ( and ICE-VaPa as well i think)

So ya ,.... ineed of advise to get better coals.... blink.gif

I bought a pack on instant lites today, and they tasted terrible, they also didn't light very quickly, so i put on a different kind. Well while I was smoking and had the instant lites in the tray, one of them randomly popped and burned my hand.

I got a pack of Swift-lite coal. They are the UK's standard QL's. Don't really like them though. Take long to light and don't fully ash over when they're ready. Don't get me wrong they're not terrible but after reading all the things here about 3 kings and golden QL's they seem like a much better choice wink.gif

Im in the UK so we only really get swift light, but they are usually good! sometimes you get fakes or bad batches

+1, I used to use them all the time. They have a slight chemically taste, but a strong shisha masks it with no probs. I recommend them if you have no other alternative.

I once had a fake batch. The stuff popped and spray hot charcoal all over the place. But that isn't typical of the real McCoy. So I recommend only buying them direct from the manufactuers, who fortunately have an ebay shop:

I think they are quite alright, like people have said, if you find the legit version, which i think you could more often than not but to me a quicklite is a quicklight, its a last resort unless there is nowhere a stove to be found! However i havent used them in time as i just use Abo Alabed (Nours) Natural coal which you can buy very cheaply in my area. Finishing offfffff, swiftlites arent half bad, just make theyr all red hot before mounting onto the bowl wink.gif Edited by DrShisha

Only coals I can get my hands on locally here.

They spark up very quickly

They let of a lot of carbon monoxide which reeks and isn't good for you

They last about 30 mins for me

Adds sometimes a coaly taste to the flavour but sometimes not noticable

Rating: 5/10 - usable

Yo H&S, i haven't tried the soex coal yet.. Im actually going to go get some 2moz...

Was disappointed with a batch of swift lite today. ;(

Ya I am all stocked up on coal so i must still go try some swifts again , maybe the batch I had was a bad one...

So next time I am there I am off to get a roll BTW they are R2 cheaper where I buy, than the soex coals

( on the side : when did you say you where getting your stuff from the US ???)

You see IMO that would be a +1 for swifts because of duration because if you heat up soex coals properly they only last an hour at most.
