Toxik916
ok so i broke my good bowl and all I have is a small mya bowl that came with my nou nou. I just plan on using the screen and not foil like I nomally do. I have 33mm golden coals and windcover. I was thinking just one coal over the middle with the wind cover should work or should I use 2 coals on the edges without the wind cover? or I could break one coal and put one half on each edge anyone have any suggestions? I just want the best smoke I can get without burning it.
racemyghost
i dont know if the small mya bowl and their standard mya bowl are the same, but you dont need a windcover for a mya bowl. Its small and heats up fast. Never really used quicklites, but i would start off with 1 broken in half and placed on edges and see how it works. You never want to put a coal in the middle unless its on its last legs of course. Also, ditch the screen. Double foil it and you're set.
mushrat
the small ones are going to be too small for a standard bowl screen. You could still use one, but its going to be hard to get a decent seal around the bowl for good air flow...

antouwan
personally, i've had bad experiences with the wind cover. personally, i only use the wind cover outside and when there's...well, wind. take those QL's and throw them in the trash, that will solve the problem for the most part (personally, i'm never going back to those 3k days)but seriously:break them into half pieces, and put 2 halves on the rim on opposite sides of the head. that's about as good as it's gonna get.edit: also, just as racemyghost pointed out, stay away from the middle of the head, that should be the last part of the tobacco to be burned Edited March 28, 2008 by antouwan
JillyIsJustKidding
Get another bowl that is bigger and trust me, you will be happy! I had the same prob with my nou nou. Its just the bowl is way too small and it gets way too hot easily, no matter what I did.So, I just used a clay bowl and it fixed my prob.BTW: Phunnel bowls work best imo. Its cuz they are taller and it means more cooling time for the smoke..
*HOT&SMOKING*
Definetly ditch the screen its one of the last things I would use!!!-H&S
mushrat
Actually, I used a screen for a long time, as long as the holes are small enough they are better than foil because they don't sag, you can smoke half a bowl if you don't have a lot of time, and they are all around easier. You just have to handle your heat differently thats all. Now some screens I have seen have holes that remind me of my tub's drain. Those aren't so good because they allow you to suck to much ash onto the tobacco itself.
