The Dive Regulator Hose Is On The Way :)

Recommended Posts

So I was helping some friends last weekend clean out one of there parent's garages cause there moving and we came across alot of his dad's old dive gear. And as we were going through it we found 4 dive regulators and his dad said we could have em so today's project is to turn dive regulators into hookah hoses smile.gif I'll post a pic below so ya'll can see what were working with, we've already got them all dissassembled and bought some wider tubing at Home Depot as well as a bunch of clamps and such. Hopefully we'll have at least one of these hoses done today so we can try it out and if they work as well as were hoping we may be having a few for sale if we can get our hands on some more regulators:)

It's not necessarily going to be better then the home depot tubing hose's that everyone else makes. It's merely going to be something unique to have and to own, I mean honestly have you ever seen anyone else smoking out of a dive regulator? It's got a "purge valve" so I can literally just sit there with it in my mouth and breath nothing but smoke and inhale/exhale through the regulator. There's gonna be one more surprise that's in the works and I'll say is that it involves some cutting/welding and one of the big diver air tanks smile.gif

you do realize that you need oxygen to live right? its not like your going to be able to sit there with the hose in your mouth for an hor and a half, you will need to take it off, and breath real air. so, if the point of this is just to be able to sit wihout taking the thing out, that wont work

also, how is this different from the masks that ive seen for sale?

SCUBA HOOKAH!

If this setup works for you I might throw down the money to try it.

Well obviously you need air to live, were working out a way to put another valve in line that you push a button and switch to outside air(possibly activated by a footswitch so your hands will be free). Were not gonna try to kill anyone here. As for the difference from the masks you see for sale, it's not a modified gas mask, as Gaia put it it'll be SCUBA HOOKAH!!!! And yes Gaia, Scuba Hookah will be happening, we've already got the air tank cut apart, were just trying to find a way to put some sort of window in the tank so you can view the water levels, we should be done with all of this in a week or two hopefully. And you can damn well bet they'll be pics when finished.

Put a small switch in the mouthpiece, maybe even air pressure bladder swithch and activate it by clamping down your jaw.

Or you could just breathe through your nose.

get a piece of plexiglass from your local home depot and heat it up with a hair dryer lightly and bend it around the tank and then rivet it to the outside of the tank and seal it with clear hi-temp silicone (be sure to seal the rivets)

EDIT: it will probably not work as a check valve without the extremely high pressure a scuba tank puts out thats just my two cents Edited by NickReppinThe909

  • 1 month later...
Well it's been way over a month since we started progress on this contraption and we've got 3 hoses working now with the dive tank hookah almost finished. Now that finals are over hopefully me and my friends can get this nailed out finally.

LOL, after about an hour of regular diving I am sick of my regulator in my mouth. I cant imagine trying to smoke through one and being able to enjoy it. Better put on a damn good music list because you sure as shit wont be talking to each other. wink.gif
