Hey guys, im new to this forum and looking on opening a hookah bar in florida. would anyone know the laws to opening a hookah bar in florida and if its still allowed. thanks

You should check with SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), a volunteer group, which assist individuals in setting up businesses. You should also check with the business department, at your local university. You might persuade a professor to develop a business plan, as a student project. (FedEx was originally a student project).

There is a firm, that will sell you a complete "turnkey" operation, and assist you in setting up a hookah bar.

I am very interested in setting up something like this, myself. Please check in on the board, and keep us apprised of your progress.

I'm currently writing a business plan (as a project for my Master's) in opening a hookah bar/lounge. I am using South Carolina as my proposed location, and I have to agree with Musrat on calling someone in the gov't and asking. I am looking at Rock Hill, SC as my location. (It's a college town, Winthrop University, and is only about 30 minutes from Charlotte NC.) I called the Chamber of Commerce there and they have been a great help. I would recommend also becoming friends with other Hookah bar/lounge owners. (I'd start with one's that are not close to where you want to open.I've found those ones are more apt to give advice and help you out with suppliers and tips and such because they don't feel like you're gonna take there business.)
