questions Posted March 31, 2008 Share Posted March 31, 2008 ok..so having an issue this morning and would love some input....when people smoke my shisha here or around here, they love it...but for some reason, when I am shipping it out, it is losing flavor...I am putting them in the screw top jars, all nice and juicy, but when they arrive, they are dryer than what I am sending out, with much less or no flavor..this is making no sense to me at all...any suggestions, or advice on what can be happening...please be constructive with your advice.. r1v3th3ad Posted March 31, 2008 Share Posted March 31, 2008 thats what I was thinking, maybe they are not airtighttry using canning jars...you boil them and they make a perfect seal.Otherwise, maybe try making them extra juicy so the flavor is almost guaranteed to stay.maybe its the exposure and change in elements during storage and transport...hot would evaporate juices and such Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

leadpipecinch21 Posted March 31, 2008 Share Posted March 31, 2008 try putting a piece of saran wrap over the shisha, then screw the top on the jar...makes for a better seal on the threads, plus it'll allow less air to get to the shisha. i do that to all of the tubs of shisha i get, and it keeps them pretty good. If you want to stay with the jars, get a gasket and put it over the top of the jar, so that it makes an air-tight seal. Put some water in one of your jars and turn it on its side. Then leave it over night. If you have any water on the floor tomorrow then it isnt air tight.I got a kind of new idea though. Vacuum bag it, then put it in a plastic tube with 2 caps on the end. n0s Posted March 31, 2008 Share Posted March 31, 2008 I haven't had time to post a review yet but the Zona I received wasn't the most flavorful either, it was there but just not prominent. The tobacco wasn't dry by any means but it seemed like the tobacco was just soaked and drained, like there was no molasses or anything mixed in with the tobacco leaves. This actually might make it have more flavor since it would just be tobacco and juice in the bag. And I THINK when you vacuum seal something it sort of undergoes an accelerated marination with whatever liquids its sealed with. It would actually be interesting to see if that works.
