My New Hookah. . .comments?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I am a new hookah owner/smoker. Been lurking here, trying to learn, but I couldn't help myself and I went and bought one. Couldn't get it to work, then I figured out the grommet between the stem and vase was leaking big time.

So, I ordered one from Hookah-Hookah, but ended up ordering a Sahara, so now I have two.

Any words of wisdom on either would be appreciated! Having some trouble placing my images, I'll use photobucket.

that top one is nice!
i was also curious how well can you see the water in the sahara vase?
your next purchase will have to be a better hose

The Sahara vase requires some trial and error at getting water level right. And you are right on as far as the hose! Crappy quality, blobs of glue, looks like it was a kid's kindergarten project.

They now smoke fairly nicely, considering that I am trial and erroring all over the place.

Anyone have any idea on the first one's origin, etc? I bought it from the Sphinx Cafe in Oakland, and the seller and I did not share a common language. biggrin.gif

I'll second that, i have the same hose, came with "delilah" hookah from HH. picks up tastes like a magnet and they linger, the glue is abnormally excessive. Just not a good hose at all. As of my first (and last) order from HH i am staying away from them.
As for the first hookah i love the stem! The second one, the base looks as it would affect the smoke, does it?

Both are very sweet Hookahs. How is your stem from Sahara Smoke? I did not like mine and I have the same stem as you. Watch out for rust on it. 1 week and it was crap. I still need to find a good stem for my Cyclone from Sahara.

I would be interested in where you got the first one. The stem is original looking but i think i might get tired of the flowers. I hope you enjoy the Dicro. If you end up getting a replacement vase I would buy it from another vendor.

I purchased the first one from The Sphinx Cafe (Pittsburgh).

Yes, the stem on the second (Sahara) hookah is (to my eyes) the weak link. The vase is nice, the o-rings seem to get a nice seal, but the stem just looks weak. When it was cut during manufacture it was crushed a little.

I always liked those vases on the second one.

I also like the vase on the second one. The flowers on the first one are a bit er... odd looking and not my sort of style but even the base is nice on the first one. But the vase on the second one is definetly awesome IMO.
