seefoodlover
Have any of you tried smoking JUST the peel of an apple, or an orange with no shisha??? Has anybody added bits of fruit to their shisha??? My grandmother has a box of 5000 cumquads, and we are trying to figure out what to do with them.

r1v3th3ad
+1 in instituting the urban dictionaryon topic: I've been thinking of taking some finely shave fruit, drying it a bit, then adding the necessities to make it shisha like...just haven't got around to it. ilikemyusername
i once mixed a bunch of coconut shavings and mango, peach, pineapple bits mixed with molasses, added a little water and brought it to a boil, let it cool and sit for a few days. the taste was something like taking a lighter and running it over a knife til you get that black "soot" waiting for it to cool and then licking the soot off. best of luck to you on your endeavor. AKammenzind
If you guys don't do it already, adding some orange zest to orange shisha really adds a lot. Also, adding orange zest to El Basha Cappuccino kicks ass.
seefoodlover
So I tried smoking just the orange zest, and it did'nt work, so I'm drying it out to put in another day, but since I had some coals going, I mixed in some Soex Orange with a couple pieces of kumquat peel and it was really good. Unlike most peoples experience with soex, where the flavor dies out quickly, the flavor of the orange was there for about an 1hour 20 mins, til the coals ran out. The smoke was nice and thick, and there was no harsh flavor. (except for when I walked away for like 5 mins). I highly reccomend it if you have some Soex laying around. I'll post this up in the reviews section.
