My Update On Shisha

Ok so in this topic im going to take the time to describe the tastes that me and my buddy got when smoking some various brands and flavors. The list is:
- King Moassel Double Apple
- Dreamz Double Apple
- Fantasia Wild Mango
- Al Fakher Cola
- Al Fakher Watermelon

KING MOASSEL DOUBLE APPLE
ok so with this i didn't get any double apple as i know. This definetly was not bad by any means but it was very floral, which although I'm not super fond of, it was definetly above decent. The smoke was pretty good but honestly i was a little put down because it had absolutely no apple or for that matter double (hahaha i made a funny ). I don't think i would buy this again but im glad i tried it

DREAMZ DOUBLE APPLE
This is terrible and by terrible i mean like a fat drunk hobo decided he wanted to try sodemy and you happened to be standing right next to him. Not only did this have NO and i mean NO flavor, it made my throat swollen for 4 days for reasons unknown. The smoke was incredibly thin unless insane amounts of heat were applied but i would like to emphasize the NO in NO FLAVOR.

FANTASIA WILD MANGO
This is great for about the first 25-35 minutes. i personaly am not one for smoking one flavor for much longer usually but since i was testing all my flavors i decided hell i give it a try. The flavor is very close to a mango and is the strongest fruit shisha ive ever smoked honestly. however, after this 25-35 minute period, my friend and i both concluded that the flavor had magically transformed to the taste of those cheese pizzas they sell at school cafeterias. I mean pizza is pizza and it didnt taste bad persay but im not one to smoke pizza. The best of all the flavors though

AL FAKHER COLA
This was the weirdest thing ive ever tried. i liked it for about the first 20-30 minutes like the fantasia but it tasted like stale cola the whole time, which i dont mind and after 20-30 minutes, my friend commented that it tasted like A-1 sauce and by god it did!!! I love A-1 sauce but on my steak, not coating my lungs.

AL FAKHER WATERMELON
Ok so this was probably the one i was most excited to try beacuse of it's raving reviews. I dont know if i was doing something wrong but it was not a strong flavor and what i could taste did taste like a watermelon but more of like if sweet-tart decided to make a watermelon. It tasted a little chalky and bland and had a very mild watermelon. Im definetly going to smoke it but i was dissapointed and i dont feel its something i would buy again.

Ok now the reason why i posted this here. This is NOT A REVIEW for a review purpose. I'm not rating it or anything. I wrote these to tell everyone what I'm tasting and I'm leaving it open for anyone to post whether they have had the same experiences, if they have any suggestions, their experiences, etc. etc. etc. Please feel free to comment because i feel that even though i do get flavor now, i am not doing something right based on my negative reviews for most shisha. If anyone has anything to say in relations to this (please leave suggestions i need them!!!) please dont hesitate. It took me a while to write this up so please dont read this and just pass over it. I've tried wild mango and the al-fakher watermelon. I've only had one bowl of wild mango, and it was extremely strong, but I like that a lot, and I'm starting to fall in love with fantasia for that very reason (except for strawberry daquiri, something wasn't quite right with that flavor, but I see that's the consensus here). My roommates all love al-fakher watermelon to death, and I have no issues smoking it, but it's nowhere near my favorite or something I would buy all the time if I wasn't pressured to. It leaves a weird feeling in the back of my throat that's hard to explain, and every bowl I've had of it seems to change flavors all the time throughout the session, usually something that tastes not too much like watermelon.

it's the watermelon for sure, not al-fakher in general. Golden strawberry is one of my favorites and is included in almost every order, I'm also a firm believer in the amazing-ness of al fakher mint. Watermelon is just weird to me, it seems like their going for a bubblicious gun version of watermelon rather than the fruit, but more often than not it tastes like neither.

We'd need to now how you are setting stuff up to be able to tell if you are doing something fundamentally wrong. Then again, the Dreamz shisha I thought was disgusting after smoking the peach, im afraid to try the Irish cream I have. King Moussal is a good bottom shelf brand, nothing to get overly excited about.

The AF on the other hand, AF is not known for its overly realistic flavours. I find many of them are more like Candy than fruit. The cola is good, but it does taste like a slightly flat Pepsi, sweeter than a Coke, and smoking it for a long time can get a bit tedius. Try mixing it with AF cherry 50/50 for a really nice smoke. Again, the watermellon is more of a candy than real watermellon flavour. It is, however, in my personal experience very strong in taste, so if its a weak taste, you may be having set up issues. Are you using the same hose for all these flavours. Your problem could be lingering tastes all mixing in your hose. Especially after a 2 apple.

Thanks for the response man. I've never had a problem with AF Double apple which is my favorite flavor of all. Yes i do use the same hose but it's a washable from social smoke. Ill have pics up saturday when im having a couple ppl over smoking but my set up is:

MZ Oracle II 36"
Social Smoke Washable Hose
Tangiers Medium Funnel Bowl OR Social Smoke Medium Bowl
Water level is approximately 1.5 inches about the bottom of the downstem (sometimes a bit more but hardly)
I pack the tobacco so that it reaches the brim of the bowl and is fairly loose (using Grim's technique of blowing into the bowl to check for airflow THANKS!!! ) If i look at it from the side a will see a feel little strands of tobacco maybe a little over the bowl but other than that its all covered by the bowl fromt he side.
For the Tangiers Medium Phunnel I HAVE to use 3 33mm 3 kings coals in a triangular form to get smoke. I literally have it to get smoke no joke. For the Social Smoke Medium i generally use 1 33mm 3 kings coal broken in half and placed on opposite ends of the bowl and rotated.

It will generally take about 4-6 draws to get the smoke going moderately and then it just builds and when it starts getting harsh i move the coals.

NOTE:: When i place the coal on the aluminum i DO hear a sizzling which dies out after about 5-6 seconds. The bowl does not smoke when i dont draw so i dont believe it is burning.

The flavor is generally light for all flavors except for Wild Mango and AF Double Apple. Other than that most flavors have been moderate or light. Like i said i will get pics up on saturday but for now this is the best i can do.

i dont smoke cola, good thing though from this review lol.

af watermelon tasted fake, i liked it the first time then kind of didnt want to smoke it too much

Hmm thanks a lot, i saw cheap King Moassel but didn't know wether to get some or not, i think i'll leave it since this is the second bad review ive seen.

yea thats the opinion i kinda got on king moassel. However I forgot to comment on the amount of stems in the shisha!!! The ones that had significant amounts of stems were fantasia wild mango, AF watermelon, and Dreamz Double Apple
