Place_Name_Here
QUOTE (erufiku @ Apr 3 2008, 11:35 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>pics?sry i keep trying to type the full message out but this spell checker sucks, and keeps deleting my text, ill have pics in a bit.but the two hookahs are broken in ruffly the same spot, a central connecter pipe that is housed inside the chamber that containes the hose connecters. The pipes function is to connect the main stim to the portion that goes inside the glass base. thehave both broke on the thredded portion. I basicly need to find a retailer of hookah parts but i dont know where to start. I have background in metal fabrication, forgeing, casting, as well as other artisen abilities so i could make the part, but id rather find it. Voski
Are they MYA hookahs or egyptians?
mushrat
The make will be inportant. If they actually screw into the bottom of the stem you may be in luck finding another pipe with the same thread. If it's a MYA it'll be easy, just contact mya directly, www.myasaray.com.If its a more traditional pipe...which I've never seen come with a screw in pipe before, you may be looking at a hassle.. Stuie
Most hookahs don't have models printed on them, but people on the forum are good at identifying them if we can see the whole thing assembled. If there is any emblem or engraving or writing photo that. That will help us. Secondly where did you buy it? This will help tremendously. If it was locally it might be a bit of a hassle, but they should know what kind it is.
Voski
The first one is a MYA I think. If not they both look like Chinese hookahs. So you shouldn't have a hard time finding a replacement. Does it have a box? Or is there anything stamped on the tray?
Place_Name_Here
both where bought localy, one (the Brass one) in oklahoma the other in KC, mo (the golden Swan) at a tobbaco/ head/ hookah shop thats down the street from my apartment. mushrat
The ports look like mya...the stems don't. Could be a hybrid or a mya knock off. I'd contact mya, send them the pics and see if they can help. They are really nice guys over there....
Place_Name_Here
i think their knock offs...being the owner, thats hard to admit, but ill try Mya Saray. Though none of there products looked like mine, the Swan origonaly had a red bell vase but it busted in the freezer.well im kind of thinking of just buying a new one because the foreign connecters would require me to basicly machien a new pipe, wich would cost well over 50 bucks for both of them. However if anyone could think of where these two might come from that would be great to know. Edited April 3, 2008 by Place_Name_Here
mushrat
with a knock off..could be any of a dozen chineese factories....How'd you manage to bust BOTH way up inside the stem anyways?
Place_Name_Here
the original brass stem, with green port, was knocked over at a party when some freshmen decided to light up my hookah while i was in the bathroom (ultamate party foul). So it has been laying around and i use it for spare parts. The second however, I have no idea how i could humanly bust the pipe inside the Hose Chamber. I was setting it up last night and when twisting on the bottom part of the stim to the top half i snapped it some how, right along the threds. I think it was just a bad part because on closer examination the metal was poris to some extent, wich meens durring the casting process it was heated and then cooled too rapidly. r1v3th3ad
if all else fails and you cant get to replace it in a fitting manner, or its too broke for an actual replacement to work...use JB Stick. Either A. JB Stick a new stem on. Otherwise, JB Stick the old stuff back together and in place. I used it for my hookah.
Place_Name_Here
I might tinker with them later, but im just gonna get a new toy. Im fed up with this cheap yet over price China bull crap. I walked down to the Tobbacco shop where i bought it and they said they whernt alowed to give out manufactures or suppliers. WHAT CRAP!!!!!! He basicly said that "we sell couterfits an knock offs and your not gonna find out where i get them...Have a nice day". well to make a long story short the only thing i will ever buy from that store is a pack of smokes.so the next question is what should i get. i have read alot of the forum posts on different hookahs and im so far most impressed by the:Khalil Mamoon: Parad-Ice, Tri Metal, Marshal.Al Fakher: 26" blue ( this hookah is sexy)so as a knowlegeable community can some one give me some direction on which product will be a good choice for some one who needs a DURABLE (hahaha iv broken two) and powerfull hookah. Ah well..we've talked about quality issues in a lot of hookahs, even expensive ones. I'd say just keeping them aroudn for bits and getting another hookah is a fine idea.
