seefoodlover
I searched how to clean a hose, and I didn't find much so I'm asking you, I have a leather hose that came with my hookah, and I need to know how to safely clean the hose. It's leather! I don't want to ruin it!
SimplexCoda
If its leather chances are its not washable. At least I havent seen a washable leather hose. The reason for this is they have metal inside that keeps the hose's shape and when you wash it, it makes it rust. I used to have a leather hose that I only washed maybe 20 times and it was completely ruined.
Tikhman
An air compressor is probably the only way to clean a hose unless you know its washable, and even then, unless its a Namor or Razon I wouldn't rist putting water inside.
nathan_Choi
Is water really that damaging to a hose? I always wash mine out after I use it with hot water... I think it's a plain old Mya Saray.
gaia.plateau
Well, if your hose is to the point where it tastes like crap, there really isn't much risk in washing it as it's fubar anyway. But Simplex is right, an air compressor is your best bet, it's how I dry my Mya hoses after a quick vodka/lemon juice shake. SmokinMoose
Well you can clean the hose if it is really bothering you but make sure to dry it with an air compressor but cleaning the hose with water will reduce the lifetime of the hose.I have cleaned many leather hoses with water but they just don't last as long. You start getting bits of the hose when you pull and cleaning doesn't work but it I wouldn't suggest cleaning it on a daily basis, monthly would be better.Just make sure that the handle doesn't have any cardboard in it, if it is a long handled hose that is wrapped with fabric then it probably has cardboard and if you use water it will totally ruin it. But if it has an all wooden or metal handle then you should be fine but make sure you stretch the hose when passing air through it, if you don't have an air compressor then just stretch it and blow hard. Post a picture of the hose, so we can see which type it is.
Baby Space Jesus
Well I do not believe that most hoses are washable. I think that most of them have a metal strip running the length of them that prevents them from getting tangled and messed up. If this gets wet and does not get dried out completely it will rust and you will get all kinds of pull through. YUCK! This happened to me and it was terrible. Make sure that your hose is actually washable before you wash it. I know nammor hoses are. I wouldnt clean a leather one though.
likespaceships
Just fork up a few bucks and get a washable hose.Or you can just wash your unwashable hose and shorten its life span and have to end up buying a new hose anyways
EternalSoil
bang that fucker on the ground really hard and blow through it like crazy!then if you really need to get the taste out use some water/lemonjuice but do not let it stay in there..run it thought then get that thing dry quick.
