I have been reading these topics for some time now. I had to join to give you my 2 cents. I have been smoking Hookah for 12 years now. It was introduced to me as Shesha or Shisha. To be honest with you I think IMO that the round charcoals are the worst thing you can use. This will be the greatest advise I can give you in life. FIND GOLDEN CANARY CHARCOAL. It is not the fake japanese stuff. Its the silver square charcoal. Tobacco is a matter of preferance, but I have been using square charcoal for 12 years. It drastically improves the taste of any tobacco. I am not talking abou the imitation stuff from china, You know you have a bad batch or its fake because the squares will turn into brown dust or silver dust. The real deal just burnes into black dust.

Like I said I can understand tobacco, it really is a taste but there is no way any of you shound be using round quick lite charcoal

Canaries are p0robably the best Jap coals. But they are expensive as hell And I hind the Belgian Natural disks to be better AND cheaper.

Also soem folks, especially those living in dorms or such, don't have access to stoves and have to use QL's. But thanks for putting in your $.02.

I love the Golden Canary Japs. My only gripe about them is that they dont last very long and are a bit messy. Other than that, I love them

The charcoal we used at the time was called Familly Train. Very similar to Golden Canary. My point is my cred should lie within the fact that I posted to help you not to make outlandish statements. No one is doubting you on this topic, the problem is that too often we have people spamming the board and the only thing they say is "buy this because its the best thing ever, evrything you use is shit compaired to our new awesome thing of awesomeness" But whatever man, I prefer exoticas myself cause you can cut them to whatever length you want and whatnot. Dont be so sensitive shesha1 its only natural that some will listen some wont. I for ex cant get Canaries , in Poland we only have 1 type of jap charcoal and its horrible :/

No, I get that. I am not here to sell you guys something. I wish you could have smoked some of the stuff I did. 10 years ago the tobacco was very different. Now everything is like these wild flavors. But believe me when I tell you back in the day. Grape was truely amazing. My friend used to mix bananna and this very buttery tasting tobacco, and I swear there was nothing like it. The best tobacco I ever tated was from this place in Anaheim CA at a place called AL Waha. This was back in the day when theses guys from Jordan ran it. They had home made Cherry that was the best I have ever tasted. Im not talking about cherry like AL-fahker. That taste like medicine. Im talking cherry that was like a cloud of coolness that tasted like 7-11 cherry. Miss those times. that place changed now.

No I havent. Janan? is it good? You are 100% right Al-fahhur Grape was once my favorite ti was amazing white smoke, and the smoke itself was so cool...then over night it changed:(
I now smoke Fusion passion fruit, and sour green apple. i just hate how it has so many stems i have to remove......Tell me about Janan..

I have used those too, and yes they are the same. It just depends on what you can find. I guess my point was if you can try to get these kind of coals, just be aware of the knock-off's. If the coal burns into brown ash its fake, if it burns into silver ash, its fake. If it burns into black ash its the real deal. The taste is quite noticable.

Friend brought me it from Jordan. Its very good i must say. Strong flav good smoke, it wast cheap but she bought it in a hotel store. Funny thing, couldnt find al waha or al jazeera in Amman

Problem is they are quite a high cost and there are viable alternatives. Exotica is a good coal as are [I believe from reports here] coconara.

Smiley had coconut fibre coals that people raved about for a while.

But if you can afford canary coals.... Then go for it lol!

Hey, why don't you try the TOM coals from shisha-world? The shipping is probably cheaper than from the USA and apparantley, according to our other european brothers, theyre the dog's bollocks.
