Sonthert
I have been smoking for 10 years and I agree, 100%. For those who want the best, Canary has it. I have smoked probably 2/3 of the types of charcoal out there and right now, Canary's are the best quality on the market. That's all I use. Rani
Here's the thing..... I use quicklights not only for the fact that I don't need to spend 10 minutes with my stove burner on high turning them to light them, but being round they re perfectly suited for center placement in a well packed round bowl. Plus they ash into a cake and don't end up all over the place. That being said, if a manufacturer made a natural coal in the same size and shape as a quicklight that would light faster on the stove because of it's size and shape? I'd be buying it by the kilos and I'm not talking about 2 kilos bags either. I'd be snapping it up in 20 kilos bags left and right. And that is indeed a not so subtle hint to manufacturers.'Rani
erufiku
Wait, you do realise that it's impossible, right? The whole point of 'natural' coals is that you don't have all the crap that makes QLs light up fast (ie, something similar to gunpowder).Coconaras are similar in size to a 40mm QL but take a good while to light up proper.Sonthert aka Mr. Tangiers: any ETA on the Lucid line?/keeping fingers crossed/ Edited April 8, 2008 by erufiku
DrShisha
Welcome. Your new so people are just sceptical mate, its just natural and its all good and once you carry on posting, no1 will question you at all. It doesnt mean just cause you havent been on the forum that you know jack shit about sheesha, thatd be naive but as no1 knows you (yet), its just a bit difficult to get people to believe and value opinions at the starting as you are a "stranger". But hey its all good, eric believes they are the best out there, i for one think they are pretty good too although i think coconut coals are as well. Its all good mate, kick back relax and everything will be just fine.

But in comparison all they sell here are Rolland Easy lights and other weird off brand crap. The Diamante last a decent amount of time (compared to the others around here) and ash pretty uniformly. However, I did just order some coco naras, so we'll see how those go.

But they are a good, cheaper alternative to the golden canaries that you speak of.Problem is they are quite a high cost and there are viable alternatives. Exotica is a good coal as are [I believe from reports here] coconara.Smiley had coconut fibre coals that people raved about for a while. But if you can afford canary coals.... Then go for it lol!JDHey, why don't you try the TOM coals from shisha-world? The shipping is probably cheaper than from the USA and apparantley, according to our other european brothers, theyre the dog's bollocks.+1 to that! Best charcoal that I've used. Dirt cheap to buy, 12 USD for 3 Kg. Lasts VERY long, little ash (but the ash is very light and fluffy, and therefore has a habit of getting everywhere ), no noticeable taste, etc.But since Eric and JD recommends these Canary charcoals, then dam! I got to try some!!!
