I'm not sure if your referring to coals as rocks or if that was sarcastic. But I have tried using a rocks I threw in fire pits and they didn't work. That guys looks more like a stone.

In any case, the dangers of smoking hookah are nowhere near the dangers of smoking cigarettes.

Chemically, the elements in shisha are being vaporized, not burned, like the tobacco in cigarettes. If the tobacco was being burned, the bowl would contain ash and not a blackened lump of tobacco cookie. Since there is no tar, the only chemicals being inhaled are glycerin, nicotine, and slight traces of carbon monoxide from the coals.

Due to overall conviniency, you're more likely to pull out a cigarette in public than you are a hookah, meaning your ability to smoke is confined to sitting down.

Finally, the psychological impact of smoking a cigarette is negative, whereas, smoking hookah is psychologically beneficial. When you smoke a cigarette, your brain is making a connotation between nicotine addiction and that which relieves it. When you smoke hookah, your brain is stimulated slightly by the nicotine, but moreso by the good taste of the smoke and the pleasant social setting.

Thats what the electric charcoal heater from HS was supposed to be. But it wasn't working so they flipped it over and call it a coal heater.

I actually tried doing this with a soldering iron. It gets to the perfect temperature, but the tip is too small to radiate the heat well.

When I applied it directly to the shisha, all I could smell was the pineapple Al Amir I had been using.

My next step will probably be to take an aluminum heatsink from a CPU and band it to the soldering iron.
