NUBBS
Ive been smoking hookah for close to 3 years now. I went to a hookah lounge with my brother when I was 17 and loved it. So my brother got me a little hookah from a local smoke shop for my high school graduation, and I still love that thing. I just joined this site a week or so ago and all I hear about is KM, KZ, and Mya. All of my hookahs are modern designs. Ive been using 3 kings QL coals since day one, and naturals are supposed to be better. I have a crap load of Layalina tobacco and really got into Starbuzz, but I hardly see anyone recommend Starbuzz. After being a member of this site I will say have learned a lot, but mostly about myself. I feel like such a NOOB!!! But to be honest I havent had a smoke better than mine yet. If anyone wants to see pictures of what I have, they're on my profile or I can post them. Just say so.
leadpipecinch21
tobacco, hookah, and coal preferences are just that...preferences. just because a lot of people like one brand of shisha or one brand of hookah doesn't mean it's the best, and shouldn't make you feel like a noob. Voski
a lot of people don't recommend starbuzz because its expensive. I have never tried Layalina but a lot of people seem to like it.
sensae
Starbuzz -is- pretty damn pricey, but IMO it's worth it for special smokes. It would burn a hole in my pocket too quickly to be a staple smoke. So far I'm liking Fantasia a lot.Smoking some SB Blue Mist right now and loving it. teq
What kills me more than anything are the people with about 5 pipes that just sit on a mantle when they only prefer smoking out of one.I like to remind myself of the origins of hookah.... then I don't feel as bad for not being able to afford every flavor of Tangiers or Starbuzz and having to ghetto mod everything when something breaks. I have 3 hookahs: 1 in my room, 1 I use when I have people over, and 1 I take to friends or where ever Im going. I honestly wouldnt have it any other way. I realize that sounds like a spoiled thing to say, but thats just me.

Sometimes people offer me money to teach them what I know. I thinks it's pretty damn funny. I just tell them to bring their stuff over and they can watch what I do then afterward, share the smoke with them and critique it. I love when they say how great something is and I'm thinking about the pictures people post. I'll keep like ten flavors around and my friends call me crazy, then I show them some of your guys stashes and they flip out.Anyway, be sure to share what you learn with us too. Ya might come across something we know nothing of yet.
jordanneff
Yeah no noobs here really. Some people here swear by one brand while others may hate it. I mean there's only a few things we all agree on around here, the rest is personal preference. PS: I have nothing against starbuzz, they have some good shisha, its just too pricey for my tastes that's all.

nathan_Choi
Yeah I kinda feel that way too, but I really like the fact that everyone here has such varied tastes. To me that's one of the things I like most about smoking a hookah - the options. The hookah itself, the hose, the bowl, the way you PACK the bowl, the shisha, the flavor, the coals, the brand, everything is up to you, and each person can show you something new and something you might not have known you liked before. As for starbuzz, the local guy around here is even more expensive - 22 for a tub of regular flavor stuff (lemonade, strawberry, peach, etc) and 44 for his "premium" flavors (the only premium one I've tried is called light headed, which tasted pretty good, and got me light headed by the second hit)
Snoopy1966
I have 10 Hookahs now maybe 11 I am not sure. They all get lovin' When I do get a new one it does get more usage to really learn the Hookah firstly. Then I start rotating them all around again. I need to do that soon, but I have a Mash'al coming, that is included in my number of Hookahs. Collecting them is my Hobby. I think it is great if you can afford to do so. I hope to get a nice shelving unit for them this coming weekend. All tobaccos have a different way to pack and manage heat at all. Any how to's for newer members I think is great. HF really helped me hone in my skills.
Stuie
We are all noobs really, except maybe Snoopy... 11 Hookahs....Where do you keep them all?I have 3. I had one for years and just bought one and it came with a free one. So i have 3 but only smoke out of the two right now! Try the freebie one in a few weeks.I like starbuzz, but I am not paying that much for a washed tobacco. If they made an unwashed line same price i would fork out the money. I like to smoke for the buzz AND flavor. I mean I have only tried 4 brands of tobacco but I know about at least 20 so we are all noobs in a since.Welcome to the Club! Snoopy1966
They are everywhere in my apartment now. It is complete chaos on where I put them. Now I have many stored because I have bought many new ones these past 2 months and I have been only using a couple. It would be really sweet to get a nice table/shelving unit for them. I am going out furniture shopping this weekend I hope. I only have one chair and our mattresses on the floor.
*HOT&SMOKING*
Hookah forum has helped me alot also....I have learned a big percentage of what I know on hookah forum...and the rest I learnt from friends. You have to start somewhere I suppose....And although I haven't smoked tangiers or the like, I can now succesfully pack a good bowl and have a great smoke.-H&S

Do you find yourself doing the same? The concept of a collection for purposes other than decoration just sort of goes over my head.
