Anxiety
alright ive heard alot of people saying that if you put milk in the base you get alot richer smoke first of is this like a huge difference? and do you actually fill the base to the nomral amount with milk? or mix it. also does it alter the taste of the shisha? erufiku
No it doesn't alter taste of shisha.Usually you should dilute it 1:4 and use skim or very low fat milk due to bubbles. If you have a small hookah I'd say it's not worth it.
gaia.plateau
Yeah, it makes the smoke a bit richer and more dense. Coconut milk works best, or failing that, skim milk.I usually just add a few splashes.
Voski
Make sure you don't have a lot of milk or it will bubble and get into your hose. I learned this by using milk instead of water the first time I tried it... as a matter of fact it wast he last time I tried it too.
paiintballa182
Tried it a few times, IMO the results weren't worth the work and cleanup
Anxiety
yea, thought those were the answers i was gonna get. Dosent seem wroth the expense/clean up if it's not going to make a big difference...thanks guys
teq
After trying milk a couple times, I upgraded to ice cream. If you use a scoop or two and dilute it with water, the sugar will actually sweeten the smoke. The best combination is vanilla ice cream and cinnamon shisha, but mint chocolate chip and mint/chocomint works well too. With fruit flavor shisha, sherbert is ideal.Aside from dairy products, teas, juices(especially those that are concentrated), Jello mixes, and wines work well too.I've even tried spices - throw a few tsp of mint flakes or a couple mint teabags in for a mint shisha that will taste like you're chewing gum. gaia.plateau
I can only speculate about ice cream, but it's spices that really give you a cleaning job. Gotta scrub that mother out.I've never had a more difficult time cleaning milk out of a base than water or any other liquid, though I guess if you left it in there for a day or so you'd have problems. Give your base a quick rinse, fill it up with water, and throw a few lemon teabags in.It'll do all the cleaning for you.

Just be sure to clean the hookah up good after.

ilikemyusername
think about this; how could it possibly "condense" the smoke? this notion defies physics. ive heard this tossed around alot "condense" its the wrong word. smoothens would work, cools as well. but "condense"? not possible. gaia.plateau
Teabags only steep if the water is hot... so you'd have to chill the base for some time before smoking. Why not just do what I do and keep a pitcher full of cold tea in the fridge? Spices like cinnamon, etc., are bitches to get out of the base because they stick to the sides, you need to scrub that shit off with a brush or something.Ilike, it makes the smoke denser, I'm no physics major, but I'm guessing that because milk is denser than water, the smoke becomes richer and more dense as it travels through it. Who knows. Hookahs defy science sometimes, just like bumblebees and gravity.

What happens is when the vaporized glycerin passes through the water, it forms a bond to whatever substance is in the base. However, you can condense the smoke by cooling it. However, you can condense the smoke by cooling it.in the sense that air contracts when its cold, just like everything with the exception of water... but this would only be very slight. by the time the air makes its way out of the hose and into your lungs there isnt going to be much of a difference, at least in my experience. and its not like having ice in the base is going to make the concentration of smoke particles greater. ice in the base does make for a smoother, cooler hit but until i see some scientific documentation about the effects of smoke density when passing through a chamber of ice, I aint buying it! on second thought, i do remember some remarkable hits from my hookah that were pretty cold, but also some from room temp water in the base. i could do my thesis on hookah smoke! nathan_Choi
I tried coconut milk a couple times, it worked out pretty okay. It didn't really seem to affect the taste, but for a while after there was a lingering smell, it took a while for me to get it all out.
mathuv
hmm... need to try some mint with mint tea.. i think herbal teas steep in cold water or am i wrong? ill go try steeping a teabag now. this would be great, i have loads of herbal tea flavors..
