Anxiety
Alright so i found a stargate hookah (which looks exactly the same as a stratus) on a website for about 140. SO I email HS because they have a policy were they will match any other vendors price (because the stratus is 200$). THey then explaind to me that the Stargate is actually a knock off of the stratus. Does any one here know a good amount of information of the the stratus's kick and what not? Edited April 10, 2008 by Anxiety
NickReppinThe909
the stratus is one of the best hitting non mya hookahs i have ever smoked but i pm'd you a link for a kick ass stargate with a glass base so you dont have to worry about stripped acrylic threads after 6 months
Sariél
From what I recall, the Stratus was originally a silver plated $800 hookah that Taqseem took to China and copied to make the Stargate. Then he had the balls to warn people about those copied his design and were making copies of the stargate! Someone called him on either that, or crappy customer service, and he tgot his panties in a bunch and said fuck you if you don't like what I sell, and we don't really see him around anymore. I think Yashman is one of the only ones who is still defending the "mutant coffee pot" design. I was interested for a while, seeing the potential in the 3" sections for the stem, but he wouldn't sell parts to build up a taller hookah. Then most of the people who bought them started having problems with the threads on the plexiglass vase wearing out, and having problems with the seal (no, not a clubbing reference). Maybe they fixed that problem by moving to glass bases, but by then, Taqseem wasn't in the mood to talk to us about it.
TaqseemHookahs
Sariél, if you search every Stargate topic that we needed to be involved in you will find that we have replied.. So please do your homework before trashing companies. Everyone in here knows we reply to messages. Many forum members have bought the Stargate directly from us with full support. Our stargate is unique in design inside and out. There is no original stargate in silver chrome. There is an original design! The price $1000.00 is up to you to decide why on some websites. We did not take the original design and steal it. We have very good relationship with the designer. all we did is toke permission to do mass production and modify a bit, thengave it the name stargate to brand it. Very simple. Now if there are other companies making similar design to Stargate then good for them, we are not going to spend years in court to stop them. Its an old game. Everyone copies what is hot. Thanks for everyone's support always.Samer,

EternalSoil
Sariél does do his homework....he is here all the time and only posts when he feels it is necessary. i.e. when something comes up that is older and not many people know about.I hear plenty of bad things about those types of hookahs so i would not recommend them. Also, Samer, you did nothing to directly contribute to this thread. You just saw someone say something and jumped in. Sariél on the otherhand gave his input on the hookah that anxiety asked about and then gave his input on the "original" company.I am not going to get in this shit because its stupid.but when a vendor comes on and starts slinging things back and forth around about a member with an attitude like that i get a little upset. Sariél
I must admit, I was a bit harsh. For that, I apologize. But in terms of doing my homework, I was here when YOU posted the info about taking the design to china. This is the first time I have heard about your relationship with the original designer. And this goes back a few years, but I was also here when people started having problems with stripped threads, scratches in the finish, and cracked vases. The threads went on for a while, because nobody could get a hold of you. You did finally come through, though, if I recall correctly.
gaia.plateau
I think that the bottom line and underlying issue here, is that forum members/consumers must be allowed to post both criticism and praise alike without fear of reprisal by vendors for criticism. I think there is substantial evidence for a caveat against vendors riling against criticism in the many cases of them losing considerable business by demonstrating their lack of accountability and responsibility. I'm thinking of Gabe's letter to mushrat threatening legal action specifically, but there are easily a dozen good examples. If someone criticizes you unfairly, it will more than likely be refuted by other members. ZenSilk
Stargates/Stratus who cares. What you need to know is that they suck and you should just not spend a ass-load of money on shit. Buy a KM or MZ.
Anxiety
i already have a mya vortex which kicks wonderfully, this guy posted a video on youtube of some of the sickest smoke i have ever seen. so i messaged him we exchanged sn's and were just talking. He said the stratus is the best hookah he's ever had, and in his imo he likes it better than the Km. About the acrylic peeling he said it was a quick and easy fix and makes no difference in the sessions you get. Here i'll post the video (this is the reason i personaly but the stratus + after talking to him some one who has smoked a km before it's nice to know that it compares)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35npEebvgrw
