cartercdad
so i have read a few posts that some people let there Nakhla acclimate. do i need to do this or no. some of my flavors are not what i expected so i am wondering if this is why. Also al amir does this brand need it as well. if so to either one let me know how to do it please.
AKammenzind
Odd timing, as I'm acclimating a bit of my Sweet Melon as we speak! Normally I don't acclimate any of my shisha, but if the flavor is weak, or just doesn't seem right I do acclimate it. I'm getting near the end of this 250 gram at the moment, and acclimating it seems to help bring it back to life a bit.Just let your shisha sit out in the air for a little while, and stir it every now and then... I never leave mine sit out for longer than a couple hrs, but that's mainly so my dogs don't get it Edited April 10, 2008 by AKammenzind

I'm smoking it now, and it tastes great as ever! For the first 150 grams or so it was fantastic, but the last smoke or two I had were pretty mediocre and somewhat odd-tasting. Now that I let it sit out in the air for about 2 hrs it tastes great. If your sweet melon doesn't taste like fresh cantelope, try acclimating it, or adding an extra half coal. It is one of those flavors that benefits greatly from having a tad extra heat on
Balthazar
My last package of Sweet Melon definately had a wierd taste to it, and this was after acclimating it. Don't really know how to explain how it tasted, but it was nothing like it's supposed to.

I like nakhla for that actually, I leave the clumps in until I'm ready to smoke it, then break a couple clumps up and pack a bowl with it... the clumps seem to keep flavor inside them pretty well. mushrat
On general principles, you should acclimate unwashed tobaccos.

Scott
So, I've got some Nakhla coming, should I acclimate it then smoke it? Or should I smoke it and see if it needs to be acclimated and then smoke it? I've also got a bunch of Al-Waha coming, is it like Nakhla in texture and should I acclimate it also? Sorry if this was a thread jack.

fineout
like everyone said 99% of the time you dont need to let nak acclimate, but if you want to be sure..it will never hurt it to do so.
Arcane
i figure, it's just a good habit to let it acclimate. however, i do it before i'm about to smoke instead of when i'm transferring it to a new container. i get the tobacco, put it in a new container and then put it away. when i feel like smoking ANY tobacco, i take out the container, open it and set it aside. then i watch some tv, clean my apartment or a variety of other activites, then after 30 minutes or more....i'll smoke. mattarios2
I just take out the amount of tobacco I need and let it acclimate, then seal the rest of the tub, that way overtime it doesn't dry out the entire 250g. From what I am told, doing that with tangiers can increase the chance of failure. But it works fine w me and nak.
