Cleaning The Stem...

Recommended Posts

Just a tip, before starting with any cleaning supplies (lemon juice, vinegar, etc) take a garden hose and blast it through the stem and the hose, make sure you use the jet attachment and get the entire stem (for the inside of course) and then scrub and repeat...makes the rest of the cleaning that much easier.

Probably only a good idea if your 100% your hoses are washable... I did this for a while with my old hose, and within a month it was rusted out. Works good for the stem though.

My traditonal hose that I got with my hookah is already giving me rubbish stuff in my mouth and it hasn't had one bit of water in it, in the 7 weeks that I have owned it......Probably going to use the handles of it to attach to vinyl tubing and get a new hose that way

I've been thinking of doing that to, maybe it will be my project this weekend...

Isn't weird that you got the crap from your hose w/o any water or does that just happen somtimes?

I have some cobra hoses that used to give you crap, but... they don't anymore? It's weird. A few months back, whenever I would smoke out of them, I'd get little black specks and things like that. But, then I didn't use them for a few weeks and they're good as new. Weird.

the smoke has moisture in it that would sit in the hose after use that would rust it over time, I know this because if i blow out the smoke upwards like as if im blowing it inside my nose, it makes my mustache feel moisturized and sweaty.

Yeah, most def...
What I did was blast it once from the top, once from the bottom, brush in and scrub both sides, top, bottom, repeat, repeat and its almost completely gone.
Dont forget the hose port!!

Is the rust a health concern? Or just annoying?

Alot of both.

What are the health risks? Damnit, looks like it's time to get a washable hose...

Well if you get rust on an open cut you get gangreen...or something like that...imagine what it does in your body...
google it, youll get more info...
and yes, washable hoses ftw.
