mattarios2
IDK $47 is pretty damn cheap price for any shipped stem and tray I think, at least copmpared to egyptian pipes ...I think Hass is just used to seeing these on sale for $20 in the streets of lebanon.. those other lebanese pipes I posted a few posts back looked a little bit sturdier but they were a few bucks more
Yeah that is what I figured. Hassouni
Those look flimsy compared to other Lebanese pipes, look how thin they are. There's light, and then there's nearly-made-out-of-foil, which is what those ones look like to me
skeetsak
today's Lebanese pipes are always light and usually aluminum from what I understand. 47 sounds fair to me. might as well be 30 +17 for shipping...sounds great that way
Hassouni
I'm just giving you my cautions as pipes like that are pretty common in Lebanon and I've checked plenty of them out and I wouldn't buy one. If $47 ain't no thing, order one and check it out! PS not all the pipes are super light, some are made of nickel-plated brass or heavy gauge metal and though hollow, are still heavier than most Lebanese hollow pipes
mattarios2
Well I would like to get a hold of at least one nice Leb pipe, I mean I am 100% Lebanese, seems a bit wrong not to own at least one. Do the nice Lebanese pipes that you speak of ever pop up on eBay Hassouni?
Hassouni
Not really. If you can wait a few months I can get you one on my next trip - probably spring or early summer. For what it's worth, none of the classic cafe style ones here are particularly heavy: The densest is actually the one on the far left, but it has tiny ports and a narrow inner diameter and a laughably short downstem (guess what, it's my least favorite pipe). However, the metal is far more heavy duty than the three in the middle. My big complaint about those super skinny Lebanese ones is that often there is little or no no buffer between the outside world and the inner tube, or whatever it's called. If it gets a knock, you risk denting that inner tube. (I also don't think the ultra skinny ones look nice, but that's neither here nor there). Two of those 360 models looked more stout, so if I had to buy one, those are the ones I'd go for.
Hassouni
This is what I'm talking about, for reference:

twoapplesplease
well its missing the top stem and hose which is setup like this....but I think you could just stuff a male bowl in one end and a hose in the other if you wanted to.......but someone like Shanaku of whitehorse studios could fashion a new setup I think for not a bad price for a collector
Seriously. Cool stuff like this needs to stay out of the thread... OMG $30 KM! Now that belongs here, but these gems should remain private If anyone wants to bid on that pipe but only wants the boho, get in touch with me. I've been looking for this exact style of Tunisian stem for quite some time so I'd be willing to try to work out a tag team bid.
Chreees
Eh, if it doesn't get posted here, it will still get posted on other forums' eBay threads and a member there will get it instead... Me personally I'd rather someone here get the nice shit.
Skoozle
Well that's the nature of ebay these days anyway. All the kids know bohos are cool, so you can't really get a super cheap deal on them anymore.
