So Let Me Get This Straight

Ok so a longer downstem is usually better because it means less room in the vase needs to be filled up with water. This means that there is more room for smoke, therefor giving you more smoke in general?

I'm asking this because I'm considering buying a new vase for my hookah if I'm correct. I was looking at the Khalil Mamoon hybrid on HC/TDP and noticed how freaking long the downstem is compared to the base.

there is a fine line with stem length becasue if it is too long and there is not enough water then the waster gets warm quicker and the smoke gets harsher and if it is too short then you have too much water and less smoke

Naw, no real connection between vase size and smoke thickness/quantity...you'll still be pulling smoke from the bowl through the water and into the hose no matter how big the vase is to store smoke in.
