So I was strolling the net, looking for new sites, new deals, anything hookah really. I came to this conclusion. Alot of sites (who shall remain nameless) like to hype things up alot. I personally think that the hype is in you own smoking sessions. One site limited the amount you could look at until you became a member, tempting you with "free" this or "free" that. Another site had marketing down for those who are easily sucked into the main stream. And another site claimed to be "the go to site for hookahs" but seemed to be in place mostly so vendors can market from there instead of building a relationship with their customers. I gotta say, this is the first time I have ventured into the unkonwn only to find nothing that I couldn't found here. I also want to hand it to Neal for building a relationship with this site and it's members. Using it for information and customer service instead of just a marketing tool. Not many vendors would give out personal phone numbers to a bunch of customers they don't know personally. I love the atmosphere here and I never feel like someone is trying to sell me something.
So heres a some questions. Why do you like HookahForum? Why all the hype with other sites with something so complex and simple at the same time like Hookah? Why did you get into Hookah in the first place?
I smoke by myself more often than not and I enjoy relaxing, not because it's the "in" thing to do. I also love the information sharing aspect of this site as I am an information whore. Anyway, I just had to say that I love this site.

I like the hookah forum because of the way we get along here. We may have our distractions and disagreements, but we have 1 thread that runs through all of us. The love of the hookah.

The hype is centered around marketing. If they hype it, they profit from it, quite simple really.

I got into hookah because I like the feeling of being at one with a tradition, and possibly starting one within my family. Hookah gives me a throwback to a time where we were patient and more intellectual. We werent arguing over petty things, we wanted something done. We didnt stop until it was done. I didnt live in that era, but I want to think I'm helping to start it anew.

I like Hookah Forum because it's relatively simple, and because vendors don't have free reign with ads everywhere. The other forum I occasionally use is plagued with ads, often from places that seem sub-par.

Yeah hookah forum is a really good place to get the real dirt on the good and the bad - I mean all the major vendors here have accounts and post, but it feels more like they're really one of us rather than some bs corporation somewhere. And the deals they offer are usually pretty kick ass to us, not to mention things like FOTM and letting us get the first crack at things.

And you get the combined knowledge of 1000's of experienced shisha smokers!

And reviews!

And deals!!!


what more could you really want, you know? This is a fantastic forum. What exactly does Premium membership entail anyway? I thought it was just for company accounts.

Umm I think you get a bigger mail box, more attachment space, the Premium Member title bar and you can change the phrase below your picture on posts. .. HOpe thats it..

I enjoy Hookah Forum because it's a wealth of knowledge.. How would I have known what Tangiers Mystery Meat was??

Bunch of great folks here, it's not one of many forums dedicated to something.. Because it truly is THE forum dedicated to Hookahs.
Kinda similar in a way to how Silverfish Longboarding is THE longboarding forum.

And being a part of this forum gives me more insight on the companies that sell Hookah products... For example, Hookah-Life is a part of this forum and they get a lot of my customer service..
(But H-C gets a lot of my money too)
Especially Neal too. Mad props to him.


Why all the hype with other sites? Well, I dont worry about the hype and I dont goto those sites.

And why did I start smoking a Hookah? Because it's amazing..

I like Hookah Forum because mushrat likes to whi^H^H^H^H^H anyways.

First off the layout is great. It's easy and uncomplicated.
Our Vendors are under control and don't spam the forum but partake and offer good information as well
as decent offers.

Admin is Mushrat so that's kosher. Literally

And most importantly everyone here. We have some great laughs and take the piss out of each other mostly in good fun. Serious discussions happen at quite an intense level yet [I believe] that we keep a civil tone.

There is no 'Clique' here either. The oldest and most active of users I have found to be welcoming to newbies.

I like Hookah Forum because nobody talked down to me even though i'm a noob. I've posted a few topics and everybody's been helpful. Plus this site is really to use.
