MNH
Update on the glass screens, We have made a few different designs and are in the testing stages.. Hopefully they will work with both of our glass bowls (the Jet and the MNH glass) and also with any other ceramic, clay bowls instead of just having a custom screen made for each individual bowl.. Things are looking promising.

waterboi
I havent tried the Jet Phunnel but I do have a small MNH glass funnel and it smokes nice! I use it often for shorter sessions. One of my favorite bowls.
austinthecity
can we get info from current owners of the jet bowls as to the condition of black gunk? i have a funnel mod made of glass and it is covered with black gunk and i have found no way to remove it. if i could be guaranteed a no-black-gunk buildup, i would probably buy one. I just use a scrubby pad and warm water to clean it out.
austinthecity
that helps for future prevention snoop, any way to clean off the black gunk though?
Canon
Just to clarify a few things, as far as the glass phunnel getting crusty, ive had mine for about a month or so and have no such thing happen to mine, you could say just wait longer and it will happen, if it hasn't happened yet its not going to, i smoke out of my glass phunnel almost daily..I broke 2/2 of my tangiers phunnel's, first one fell on concrete, 2nd fell on carpet. both broke, the one that fell on carpet fell less then 3 feet. so as far as the clay phunnel being more durable id say if you drop it its likely to break, glass or clay.now saying that id say go with the clay phunnel because theres not much difference between the 2 bowls IMO. i mean the glass does retain the heat a little better so you don't have to use as much heat and the tobacco is cooked more evenly, but its hardly noticeable while your smoking. all that it means is that you dont have to use as much coals on the 2nd round, but thats the way with any bowl you use. iamscott06
With these glass covers.. if we already have the Phunnel can we purchase a glass screen to fit on it? Could we send in pics or something to get one made that would fit? I'd really like to give the glass screen a shot but not if I have to buy a brand new glass phunnel.. Snoopy1966
As far as getting the black gunk off the Mod I really do not know. Maybe some of that cleaner with the numbers would work?? Or get a new one and take care of it from the bgining.I have dropped my glass funnel the other day and it did not break! It fell from my kitchen counter onto the linoleum floor, that is a good 3 feet fall. It was in slow motion and I was waiting for the smash....but no smash I wonder if it helped it was full of tobacco??

Stuie
Maybe I am not getting it.... Glass is an insulator of heat, electricity, etc. If you put a glass screen on top wouldn't it allow less heat into the bowl? Requiring more coal? Or I am just missing something? Or I am just missing something?while the thermal conductivity of glass is hundreds of times lower than aluminum or steel, i believe it is still higher than clay or ceramic. Therefore, the bowl itself conducts the heat better, causing less coal to be used. Most of the heat comes from the bowl and the air being inhaled, not the foil or screen. Why you see a lot of bowls with an unglazed rim. Glass might cook the shisha better than clay. I can understand that but with glass between the coals and the bowl will heat transfer better from glass to glass than foil to glass?
Canon
as far as the mod goes, mine has no black gunk on on it, snoopy can attest to that, all you have to do with any bowl is use a green scrubby pad on it and theres no reason it should have anything on it after you smoke it. iamscott06
Only black gunk on my mod is on the underside.. kinda hard to clean that small little space. Rest of the mod/bowl looks brand new
