No Such Thing As Local Shops

Recommended Posts

I hear everyone talk about goin to their favorite local shop to buy their tobacco. This makes me sad. I have no local shops. I live in a town that when school is in session there is about 14,000 people, even less in the summers. This place is also far far far away from a place where any arabic folks have decided to make their home. Therefor I have no local shops. I would love to be able to go browse my local stores.

I know what you mean. When it comes to out of pocket expenses film students get the shit end of the stick.

I'm not one personally, but there are a lot at my school and I always hear them bitching about that kinda stuff lol

Ya. But there are a lot of rich kids around here so maybe I should get some hooked on hookah and convince them to open a shop and give me massive discounts for being the one who opened their eyes to the wonders that is hookah.

My buddy isn't a hookah smoker but he's in the same situation, locked in a shoddy little town that dies down once the academic year is over. I say, what is it with American colleges being so far from everything? Most of the good ones in Canada are in major cities... not to mention that McGill owns like, half of the downtown area wink.gif

That and when you're building a lot of buildings and a college campus the price of land goes wayyyy down when you're far away from the city. I live 10 mins outside of pittsburgh and the houses here are relatively affordable but if you go another 25-30 mins outside of the city I could be in a house twice this size for the same money. Thats why the state college here is in the middle of f'ing nowhere. Edited by jordanneff

Thats why I am lucky to have atleast 8 local stores close by. Some are like a 5 min drive and everyhting else is within a 20 min drive...so I am lucky when it comes to local stores.

Also I just found out , that one of my local stores started supplying Al-Fakher 50g boxes for about $2.50 so thats a big YAY for me biggrin.gif

A friend of mine had gone to a hookah bar in a town about 4 hours away then he bought himself one and got me hooked

Well you obviously have internet acess so that suggestion is a bit silly. If you know where to go online and what offers to make use of you can get far better prices and selection than you ever could in a local shop.

I am an advocate of the locals ( I love chatting with the owners of my favorite cigar shops and brew stores) but you can get much the same experience with the best websites.

Feel free to contact me or use the live help function if you ever want any advice or have any other questions.

I live in one of the most popular beach resorts, Ocean City Maryland. The closest shop is roughly 120 miles away.

I dont know about being illegal, but we do have 1400 cops in the summer... Most of them are seasonals, and they just write tickets after tickets... So I wouldnt doubt it that some seasonal was like "Oh, I remember seeing that in the law book all the way in the back! Yeah!"

I know how you feel. I also live in a town where local shops are just head shops. Extremely expensive and nothing worth buying there.
I have to get all my goods online. I just wish i had some local markets here to shop at. Edited by waterboi
