Smoking Nakhla

I'm gonna be pickin up some Old School nakhla to bring back my first days smoking hookoah, but I admit it's been a while. Roughly 3 years. So anyways, I don't quite remember how to pack this stuff,
1.) do you guys recommend I pack it in a phunnel or a regular ceramic bowl or does it not matter?
2.)How hefty do you pack it? Regular?
3.)How many pieces of exoticas? 1/4's 1/3's? I'm assuming it takes a hell of a lot less heat than Fantasia to get it smoking right.

The last time i smoked nakhla it was with instant lights, (no longer using those) so I just don't want to roast it with exoticas, so some advice would be awesome.

1) Regular Bowl

2) 2.1) Mix up the nahkla real good with a fork 2.2) Fluff it into bowl with said fork 2.3) Pack a lot of it 2.4) Don't worry about it touching foil

3) I use 3/4's of an exotica Stick on my normal bowl and it smokes GREAT

Thanks JD, You-da-man, I knew you would chime in seeing it was about Nakhla .

Now could you pack it in a phunnel? Just out of curiosity. Have you tried it?

I have packed it in a funnel before. However it was not as good as Nahkla can be.

I've allways found with Nahkla that it likes heat and always seems to react oddly to the funnel bowl setup. No idea why. Of course this is just my own personal experience with it.

It's worth remember that the funnel bowl was intended for the sort of wet tobacco's that would be cooking in there
own juices - not exactly a problem that Nahkla suffers from as Nahkla appears to be more oily than wet.

But however other's have suggested that it can work in a Funnel. Personally I like Nahkla and I've allways found it responds to a more traditional setup.

But Nakhla does like a lot of heat.. I've noticed that over the years.



But definitely glad to see your going back to the beginning, Nakhla Tropical Punch was the first I've ever smoked and then Nakhla Strawberry... But I aways keep Nakhla around, like right now I've got Banana and Mango.

Yeah, it really is an amazing tobacco, and my local middle eastern shop sells 250g boxes for 4.99. Can't go wrong. I picked up Basha Grape and Nakhla Peach (one of my long time fav's)

Yeah I will be using 2 1/4 pieces b/c I have a regular sized ceramic bowl. I figured 3 1/4 pieces was a bit much for my setup.
