Hard Pulls Make For An Ideal Smoke

Recommended Posts

In an effort to improve the diffuser, I took the cap from a Hilighter and some vinyl tubing. It slides over the stem and extends it by about three inches. The diffuser portion creates a tremendous amount of bubbles, while the stem forced to the bottom of the base makes the pull harder and more quiet.

I usually smoke with people who inhale really hard(despite all efforts to tell them to do otherwise), causing the shisha to burn rather than simmer. It makes the inhalations more paced, which leads to longer lasting coals and shisha.

Granted, more water in the base will have the same effect, but that just means less smoke.

I have no problem pacing my pulls, but the people I usually smoke with inhale really hard, which I've found can ruin a bowl more than anything.

This sort of controls the pace, so they don't ruin my bowl.

That's a good point, those power-hitters do over-smoke a bowl. And then they get defensive when you ttell them to slow up and take turns.

wow i had no idea my power hitting was ruining my bowls. i just thought thats how i got more smoke, what should be done instead to get bigger pulls. my sessions are long enough and the shisha is still gooey on the bottom when a get bord of a flavor, so i don't think I'm burning it to bad. sad.gif

Slow, paced inhalations will pull the right amount of air through.

If you suck too hard, I've found that there's a pressure differential that actually forces hot air back up through the stem and out the bowl.

It's not as fun, but I've actually considered using an electric air pump just to keep the pressure perfectly regulated. Edited by teq

sigged, thanks

anyway... with my bowl, you need a ton of airflow because my hose ports are really small...someone can be sucking on my hose really hard and only get a medium cloud...luckily I've got it down
