teq
In an effort to improve the diffuser, I took the cap from a Hilighter and some vinyl tubing. It slides over the stem and extends it by about three inches. The diffuser portion creates a tremendous amount of bubbles, while the stem forced to the bottom of the base makes the pull harder and more quiet.I usually smoke with people who inhale really hard(despite all efforts to tell them to do otherwise), causing the shisha to burn rather than simmer. It makes the inhalations more paced, which leads to longer lasting coals and shisha.Granted, more water in the base will have the same effect, but that just means less smoke. Luke69
i HATE it when theres a hard pull. I like it when it feels like theres nothing blocking it at all
Codename067
Smooth, easy pull ftw. I don't want to even THINK about the pull when I smoke. When you have an easy pull, you dont even think about it..when its hard..its like, wtf is wrong here? teq
I have no problem pacing my pulls, but the people I usually smoke with inhale really hard, which I've found can ruin a bowl more than anything. This sort of controls the pace, so they don't ruin my bowl. And then they get defensive when you ttell them to slow up and take turns.
teq
It's not even taking turns that annoys me.... it's that they literally inhale like a vaccum and suck so much excess heat through the shisha, it burns it.
ZenSilk
And then you just cannot find the right place to put the damn coals at all!
teq
Well, I have a few places.... but I don't think burning flesh will make the coals taste good.
Place_Name_Here
wow i had no idea my power hitting was ruining my bowls. i just thought thats how i got more smoke, what should be done instead to get bigger pulls. my sessions are long enough and the shisha is still gooey on the bottom when a get bord of a flavor, so i don't think I'm burning it to bad. MechAnt
Yea, I hate it when people inhale SUPER hard. It's ok to take long slow hits but when they draw hard, it really ruins the bowl. Pisses me off.
teq
Slow, paced inhalations will pull the right amount of air through. If you suck too hard, I've found that there's a pressure differential that actually forces hot air back up through the stem and out the bowl. It's not as fun, but I've actually considered using an electric air pump just to keep the pressure perfectly regulated. Capt. Morgan
For a while I was using a hose with really crappy pull. Since I switched to a nammor I learned wuickly that slow, gentle oulls were the way to go.
